Beach Club lost two of our bags. ;(

The bell services @ WLV said " We would have found your luggage after 2-3 days" !!!!!
We were also doing a split stay. Because they didn't believe our luggage was there,
and REFUSED to allow us inside to find our luggage.
Oh, but after 2-3 days they would've delivered it to us!

Wow! That is nuts for them to specify 2-3 days. How do they expect people to respond to being given that time frame?????

It was awful! We had our luggage etc. placed in bell services when we checked in, in the morning.
After receiving the voicemail about our room being ready, we went to the inside bell services. I asked the CM if we could give him our claim ticket or if we should go the outside bell services to have them bring up our luggage.
He took our ticket & said our luggage would be right up.

We had wanted to take a nap before heading out.
After 1/2 hour, we called bell s. & they were rude and said it's coming.
After another 1/2 hour, same thing.
So my husband stayed in the room in case they came; i went to the inside bell services, & they sent me to the outside bell services.
The outside bell services sent me back to the inside one!
I then went back to the outside services & they asked me to describe whom took our ticket.
They claimed no one like that worked there!
I asked if I could enter to find our belongings.
They said NO!
After many more minutes, I finally got to see inside & it was all right there in the front!

I asked WHEN they would've delivered it if we had just waited.
"Oh, we would've figured it out after 2-3 days!!!!"
An awful way to start out stay @ the Wilderness Lodge Villas!

Omg! You are right, not a “deluxe” intro to your stay. Claiming that no one like that worked there? That’s inexcusable treatment. Are bell service personnel not trained in customer service, heck simple common decency for that matter? It would sour me from ever returning to WL. At least bell services sounds poorly managed.

Makes keeping 24 hours worth of clothes, etc. seem kind of pointless, if they “Would have figured it out in 2-3 days.”

I appreciate that you shared your experience. Ain’t no way will I be relying on Disney bell services in the future. I was thinking about forgoing a car for our upcoming trip and use Uber when we can’t walk to a park but it’s a major life event celebration trip for us and no way do I want to face an incident like this.

I would honestly email a complaint. That treatment is inexcusable and frankly disgusting. I'd be beyond miffed. Sorry you went through that!

Visitors changing rooms are often advised to keep immediate needs with them (and perhaps storing on a park locker).

Last year we switched rooms in AKL. Went to pick up our bags (we told them to hang on to them and we would pick up) she went into the room and came back with "our" luggage. It was a beautiful Dooney bag. As much as I wanted the bag I told her it wasn't mine. :rotfl:I prefer my pillow which she didn't bring out with the bag. So back in she went and brought out the correct luggage. Including my beloved pillow.

Glad you were able to retrieve your pillow. I understand. I have a couple that I always use and I travel with too at least when we drive. The style was discontinued, can’t be replaced so I value them greatly.

That's what I expect from Disney about 5% of the time these days. Usually everything is great, but once in a while you run into an odd brick wall of both incompetence and nastiness that's hard to get out of your head. When DVC came out with digital membership cards, DW tried to use it and was actually accused -- right to her face and right in front of me -- of trying to scam the gift shop out of a 10% discount, because the CM apparently hadn't read the memo about the digital card being an option. I don't blame the CM for the error because (having worked at a disney store in my youth) they constantly change policy and it's nearly impossible to keep up with everything, but the vindictiveness of a main street employee was pretty galling.

Sorry you went through that with your luggage. Report it to a manager in the future and they'll often at least give you a courtesy credit for lunch or something. Obviously it's not the ultimate goal, but it is what it is. Also, anytime you check baggage for any reason, verify the tag that goes on it. Sometimes the person who makes the tag will write the wrong thing on it. One time I caught an airline checkin employee putting someone else's printed baggage tag on my bag! Had I not seen it, my bag would have gone to another city and who knows how long it would have taken to track that down (or if it ever would have been). I actually like the self-tagging nowadays mainly because I at least know this won't happen!
