Beach Club lost two of our bags. ;(

Ugh, I hope it's a good update.

Last year, we stayed at ASMu for 2 nights. Amazon Prime Now was an hour late dropping off our stuff and then ASMu took three hours to get it to us (they refused to let me just lug it all myself) and when they finally did, all the fridge stuff was missing. Amazon re-delivered the fridge stuff and this time, ASMu handed it over.

The next day, we transferred to CBR. Guess what didn't make it in the resort transfer? I was very grateful to the young lady from CBR that drove to Publix and replaced our fridge items at 11pm that night (our son wouldn't sleep without his nightly milk and he needed a non-dairy version Disney didn't have).

But this is a good reminder - do not resort transfer anything you may need before 5 or 6 at night. It can take a long while for those bags to get to you!

hope ou got your bags!
We do split stays often and have always had disney transfer. Did it just last week Poly to BC. Havent had any issues....I hope it worked out!

So sorry for the delay in responding!

So, YES, they found our bags. We were told they would be here from GF between 2:00 and 4:00, and they were located around 8:00 pm. They had somehow ended up at the Contemporary. It wasn't in time for the party, and my kids had nothing whatsoever to wear, as we got caught in the rain walking from Epcot and were completely soaked. All they had were swimsuits.

The manager told us to put some stuff for the kids, including Halloween wear, on our magic bands, and they would reverse the charges. We did that, and while the outfits were not what I packed, the kids were happy and we had a fun time. They reversed the charges quickly, and I was grateful for the assistance.

If I were to do a split stay again, I would just move the bags myself and leave them with bell services. At least then I would know where they were. :)

A blip in ur vacation. Glad the kiddos enjoyed..

I just realized that may have sounded flippant.. not my intent at all..
. glad it worked out and luggage found and kids had fun..
and thus it didn’t ruin your vacation.

I’m so glad it worked out! I seriously do NOT trust Disney to handle moving my bags. Not for DME, not for anything. I schlep my own as much as possible. Being separated from my bags when I need them is my worst nightmare!

Pfew, I'm glad OP finally posted an update, and that no bags were finally lost!

Also, as I realize that people usually complain when something goes wrong, but not always when everything works, I just wanted to report that, on the other hand, bags can be delivered without hassled by bell services. We're doing a lot of split stays and, so far, all of our bags have been delivered right on time, sometimes even earlier than the 4pm time they suggest to call Bell Services at the new resort (it doesn't cost anything to call earlier just to check).

I am sorry it turned out this way but glad you still had fun and they tried to accommodate somehow. You did teach us a lesson. Moral of this story is dont move resorts on a day when you have events scheduled that might require you to go into your bags. I will keep this in mind. Glad you got your bags back.

I'm glad you got your bags, and that they helped with something to wear.

I agree with some others, that from now on I'm not keen on letting Disney move my bags even with Magical Express. Last trip, we landed in the morning. Disney messed up our room reservation, moved us to another resort (I was NOT happy at all), and we didn't get our luggage until over 9 hours later! I won't ever let them handle my luggage again; we were tired and wanted to get ready for bed, but had to wait for our bags.

Glad to hear the good news and its nice that Disney did what they could to make it up for the unfortunate situation.

Glad it worked out. As I expected, the BC GM went above and beyond to help you out.
And perhaps you could edit your title.
It Never was the Beach Clubs fault, it was at least, the fault of the GF who sent them to the Contemporary, if it was anything other than a true mistake.

I am glad it worked out for you all and the kids had fun!

My dh is adamant about Disney not moving our bags every. We take DME but get our bags (well we do carry on suitcases so they are with us) and early August was the first split we did and again, he was not having Disney move our stuff.

I've never had a major problem but the one time we switched between resorts (to the Beach Club, funny enough) it was not great. When I went to ask bell services at BC to not deliver our transferred luggage that night (it was kind of late) and that we'd just get it in the morning, I had little confidence in anything about the process. The place was a mad house, with long lines, CMs seemingly confused, and one CM who spoke very little English (please don't take this as a political statement - I just thought it was odd to have someone in this role who had trouble communicating). And of course, they did deliver bags that night, after my son was asleep. But, funny enough, not all of them. So I still had to go get a couple in the morning.

Since we have an owners locker, I do carry on too. I like to know where my suitcase is, both at the airport, and at the resort.

Just because it’s “Accidental” , being without several bags overnight isn’t a good way to settle in at your hotel.

Thanks for letting us know that you enjoyed the party after all, OP. Enjoy your trip.

I'm so glad everything worked out!

I did not have a problem with my last split stay. Our bags arrived by 4 pm which I was aware would most likely happen. It was just a bit too late for my liking. For our next trip we also have a split stay and
I was debating on moving our bags myself so we could have them there or to let Disney move them. I have us in the parks until 4 pm but we may want to hit the pool so that's why I was debating on moving them myself. I never even thought bags could possibly be lost or misplaced. Now I'm set on moving our bags myself. No biggie. We will just Uber it over from POFQ to BWV.

Definitely the easiest way to do it.

Or they could keep their party items in a carryon that’s either left with the original resort (them just run back there to retrieve it), or that’s taken quickly the the new resort and left. Or if the party items are small bring them with you and put them in a locker while at the parks.

we were tired and wanted to get ready for bed, but had to wait for our bags.

Well, it’s always best to keep things for the first 24 hours in a carryon. That way you’d have that and wouldn’t have to wait for anything to get ready for bed.

Best to do that even now, since airlines do misplace checked bags!
