We are making our first trip ever to HHI in two weeks. Are chairs provided by Disney at the beach? I know at Vero, there are rentals available, but don't remember seeing anything about Hilton Head on these boards. We have to decide wheyher to take our own.

When we were at HHI in July, the resort did not provide chairs at the beach. You could use your "Key to the World" charging privileges to rent them from the lifeguards at the beach. We rented 2 chairs and an umbrella for around $100 for 5 days, I think. It was pricey-- but worth it IMHO. The chairs were very nice- full wooden chaise lounges that could convert into regular sand chairs. Once you rent them, they will be set up for you in the same spot every day with your last name written on the back of them. I loved not having to stake out a spot, or drag chairs back and forth to the beach. :thumbsup2

If you're planning on renting the chairs at the beach, you might want to call ahead and see if they're still going to be available. (They are rented by the Hilton Head lifeguards, not by the resort, BTW.)

Since beach rules change today, and I'm not sure if the lifguard hours remain the same. At some point, the chairs and umbrellas are packed up for the season, just not sure exactly when that is.

The other advantage, IMHO, to bringing your own chairs rather than renting them, is that you can move them according to the tides. The rental chairs are set up pretty far back and when it's low tide it's quite a way to the water, especially if you have children you want to keep an eye on! :beach:
