Beach Bash Question

We have a reservation for the Beach Bach on the 6th and I can't wait! We also have a reservation on points at BWV. If I change or cancel the BWV reservation will we loose our Beach Bash reservation?

We're not sure if husband can make it so I'm thinking of just taking kids and staying at an All-Star or off-site to save the points for when he can join us.

Is it required that you be staying on points to attend the beach bash or are you allowed to attend because you are a DVC member?

Last year you had to be a member staying on WDW property. There were several local DVC members who booked rooms at the value resorts for the night of the event to attend. Last year we had to give the CM our reservation number and they pulled the names of those listed on the reservation and reserved for them. When I checked in they had my name on a clip board and it said party of 5 next to it. Keep in mind this is last years guidelines. I have no idea if they are the same. OP did you scroll to the bottom of the page on the DVC website to checkout any small print defining the rules and/or restrictions?

When you registered on April 8 you had to give them your reservation number and they took the names right off the reservation. On April 22 they opened up reservations to any DVC members and you could book up to 6 people without a reservation and without giving names.

I booked on the first day they opened, gave them our resort reservation number and asked for 7 tickets. Was given a reservation number to present at gate. They didn't ask for any names. We are staying in a 2 BR but we only have 3 names on our resort reservation. We have friends staying at AKL Kidani at the same time who rented points that I plan on taking with us. Is there a way to check how many tickets/entries are allotted to your reservation number? I would hate for our friends to show up and not be allowed access. I'm tempted to add them to our resort reservation since we're allowed up to 8 in a 2BR but I shouldn't have to.

I just got off the phone with MS and the cast member would not let me book July 13th because I don't have a reservation during that time. We'll be locals attending.
