Beach at Atlantis????

Another Atlantis Question.... Isn't there a public beach beside the Atlantis? If so, what is it like? What is available there... Is the Atlantis in easy walking distance? We may be interested in the Atlantis Beach Day, or Maybe a room at the Comfort Suites... But with DS, who will then be 5, I am also considering just visiting there for a short while, then heading back to the Wonder to enjoy the ship while it is not completely crowded.

PS: I know that the tour involves a LOT of walking.... Is the majority of this walking just to get TO the aquariums, or to go THRU the aquariums!!???
