Be sure you bring photo ID and membership

Besides my ID and membership card I also carry my medical insurance card just in case.

Years ago I purchased a much smaller wallet just for vacations. When I travel to WDW I load up the following cards, my Dvc card, my AP, my TWL, photo Id, a credit card and to be safe and most importantly my insurance cards. If you have had any sort of serious illness in the last few years this is a must.

Yea 6 cards may seem like a lot to carry even with a magic band but better to have the solution to any issue that can come up in your pocket

Just back, wanted to mention that they were still strict with letting folks into the figment member lounge.

An grandma type in front of our party was arguing she should be allowed access. DVC card in her son's name, said they were on vacation together and he was elsewhere in the park. Asked if she could call him for verification, but the CM was un-moved. Said he had to be physically present.

Enjoyed the lounge even though we just stayed long enough for a drink, print off our airline tickets and grab nice sized bags of gummie bears. They had chips and other goodies too.

Appreciated just a bit more as I had earlier paid close to $25 for 3 bags of chips, soft drink and a beer @ sunshine seasons - ouch.

Used my DVC discount quite a bit in DL and every CM wanted to see ID and blue membership card. One even said if the membership card wasn't the new blue one, she can't give out the discount.

We also stopped by during our trip a few weeks ago. When we checked in at the dvc member lounge I gave the cm my dvc card and photo ID. She thanked me for being prepared. I keep my ID handy and with my TIW card since its requested sometimes. When I used my AP or dvc discount I was asked for my ID 100% of the time.

Personally I am happy that the CM's are trained to check DVC card to photo ID, I am not offended in the least.:thumbsup2 TOO EASY for someone to "lend" a non member a card. :scratchin

I always carry my DL, Insurance card, credit card, member card and a few other things in the parks. They sure came in handy on the trip when Bill ran the Tower of Terror Ten Miler and passed out just as we were leaving the park. Took a Reedy Creek ambulance to the hospital where he got treatment and was released a few hours later. Lucky I had all of that with me.

Oh my, all good now?

Oh, yeah. He got overheated and had gained some weight. They gave him fluids, cooled him off and sent him home. Funny thing was a few weeks before he had passed out when we were looking at hot tubs and he was trying one. Stayed in too long and when he got out, he passed out. Got a ride to the ER in an ambulance on that one, too. Went to the doctor after the second one at WDW and was told he was fine.

Glad it all worked out well, still had to be very scary, last thing you expect on a vacation.

I usually go ahead & carry both of ours in my little Baggalini that has lots of slots. That way he still doesn't need a wallet.... I really wish they would figure out a way to tie the whole DVC membership into the magic bands so you don't have to have your cards for everything everywhere. It will never be a bag free place for me....

It is for me. I carry a wallet that fits in my back pocket or I use a lanyard... depending on my mood. The only day I bring a purse (one of my Disney Dooney and Bourke) on my last day so that I don't have to check it in at the resort before we catch ME back to MCO.

Other perspective -- carrying your driver's license in the park increases your risk of losing it, which could make flying home difficult. We always take photos of our IDs on our phones and use those instead of the actual cards. Works just fine for discounts, etc.

I do not understand why people don't carry ID. Trust me if there's an emergency it REALLY helps the first responders and others to know who you might be! Don't be a John Doe in a hospital for days while your family panics about you!

And as for depending on the Tragic Bands as your only payment method, it will provide entertainment when you have a hissy fit because "it's not working" Last year on a Friday night during Food and Wine I saw lots of grown adults having little whiny fits while I was paying with my other payment methods. Remember Tragic Bands are run by Disney's IT shop. The same place that brings your our "reliable" member page!

For those that have been in the lounge was there an elevator? I saw photos of a spiral staircase and thought holy moly even with ID and DVC membership card my wheelchair is not getting up there! I am not a paraolympic athlethic sadly... I wish...

Pretty sure I noticed one in center of room near the steps. Perhaps call MS
