be sure to check the pool before you jump in - though i doubt you'd miss seeing this!

Yikes!!! There was a gator at the a Beach Club when we stayed there. I couldn't believe it!

A few years ago we got talking to a guy in Publix that had just bought a house down the US27 and that morning he went out to the pool to clean it and he found a gator in the pool, he said thank god it was him that went out first as the kids are usually out first and straight into the pool.

scary!!! i wouldn't want to be the person who has to catch them!!!!
that must be quite an undertaking!!!

Not quite the same but we found a snake in our pool one night :scared1:

It was after DH had been in there swimming

Snakes in pools at WDW are not unheard of. They drop into the Lazy River (and whatever the other one is called) now and then too :scared:

I don't know if any of you recall, but a few years ago there was a report of a gator found on Tom Sawyer Island. Fortunately at Disney, Pest Control is pretty swift to respond :)

OMG - i guess i shouldn't have read this post....ignorance is bliss after all...

i'm trying to remember where i saw a snake when we were in the water...

oh...no...it wasn't when we were in the water, it was when we were on the fishing excursion out on bay lake...there were zillions of snakes out there...BIG ones....and they royally creeped me out!!!!!!! yech....it had to be snakes..

we also had a big black snake run between our feet as we ran up the stairs to downhill double dipper at blizzard beach....
and boy did we squeal!!!!!!! or maybe it was SCREAM.... :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

and we also encountered about 4 or 5 of them as we walked towards the entrance of Animal Kingdom...they came out of the bushes that are next to the walkway from the handicapped parking area.....those ones were smaller than the one at BB....maybe babies? but still pretty big...and they made us jump when we saw them that's for sure!!!

We'd never seen snakes at WDW until we stayed at POFQ but I don't think we've had a trip there without encountering at least one. The ones we've seen have all been black racers. DD nearly stepped on one on our first morning there a few years ago. She was skipping along the path ahead of me and I suddenly saw it reared up in the bushes sort of swaying over the path about 2 feet in front of her. Of course I was very calm about it all and extremely helpful as I froze and started shouting "Tiggi Tiggi Tiggi Tiggi .... Snake" :rotfl: By that stage she'd already just about hopped right over me in reverse, turned to me hands on hips and wanted to know WHAT is a snake doing at Disney :rotfl2:

There was a thread on the resorts or community board about a year or so back where someone had been in Mousegear and spotted a snake happily cooling off under a shelf of merchandise. The poster took plenty photos. It was actually quite a humorous thread. I will see if I can find it for you. Unless you prefer that I don't. ;)

Remember being at Kennedy Space Centre and the people there giving the prep talk about if you break down stay in the car and don;t get out. Help will be along shortly etc.

Driving out the place DS and I spot this huge gator in the swap/marsh area by the sides of the road. Thankfully we didn't break down :D :D

I'm with you on this one! What's worse than a reptile you can see? One that you know is there but don't know where it's hiding

I'm more impressed that Tanzanite searched the house. I would have grabbed a phone and been calling someone else to do it for me :rotfl:

me too!!!!!

although i once did encounter a scorpion in our basement and never called anyone....but scorpions are a lot easier to handle solo than snakes!!!.....
20 whacks with a shoe sent it to scorpion heaven (or wherever they go)...
wasn't thrilled to know it had been there...but at least it wasn't going to bother us after that...
of course, if there's one that you see, there are probably more that you don't............

think it must have gone in the vent under my fridge area. I took a broom every time i go in the kitchen now I turn on the light and check the floor.I still have a habit of going out with no shoes on to get mail but watch where i walk.Snakes scare me so much screamed so loud must of woke neighbours up.:rotfl2:
