Late August is the official answer. But rumor is Aug. 28

I'm going to WDW in January 2013 and would love to get ressies for Be our Guest. I first read that it was opening in August but just read another post on the WDW boards that it's been delayed until December...do you think they'll still start accepting ressies in August??

The public opening date has been announced, and it is December 6. Previews (for the public) start November 19. All we are missing is the date to make reservations. There's no reason they can't accept reservations in August for meals in November.

It’s almost time! You can make reservations for you and your Clients at Be Our Guest Restaurant in New Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom® Park beginning at noon on Aug. 20 by calling 407-WDW-DINE.

You can make reservations up to 180 days out – the very first seating will be for dinner on Nov. 19 – by calling 407-WDW-DINE (3463), or visiting any Walt Disney World® Guest Relations Theme Park location or Guest Services desk at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel. Online reservations will be available beginning on Aug. 22. at www.disneyworld.com/dine.

Have you heard anything about a soft opening before then? We leave on that Sunday but my DD is obsessed with Beauty and Beast. Think it would be worth calling on Aug. 20 to see?

I wish I could see the menu before making the reservation on Monday. I know Disney has given a few examples of items on the menu, but I'd really like to see if Lunch would be a better choice for our group versus dinner.

To PP:
According to the Disney blog, lunch is quick/counter service meal. You order via touch screen menu or cashier, find a table and your food is delivered to you, (china not paper plates). Hope this help with your decision, dinner vs. lunch.

I was hoping for a complete dinner menu also. I have some really great ADR's and it would help my decision making to know the complete menu. Will they definitely be open for lunch starting Nov. 19th also, or do we just know dinner for sure? I'd like to try both

I'd hold off a bit and wait until noon EST to do it if I were you (the reservations are opening up at noon, not first thing)

It also states that lunch is a QS meal and dinner is TS and a credit card will be required for dinner reservations. No shows will be charged $10 per person if not cancelled 1 day in advance.

Also, it will be part of the Disney Dining Plan. That same email confirmed that for lunch it will be 1 CS entitlement and for dinner 1 TS entitlement.

I don't think you can make online ADR's though until the 22nd, initially its by phone only.

Unfortunately we have all of our ADR's set so I'm thinking this most likely will be a CS lunch for us instead of dinner.

I knew it probably wouldn't be open in October, but still kinda bummed to see it "officially". We probably won't be back to WDW for years, stinks to miss it by a few weeks!

Apparently there won't be public access to the area prior to November 19. There are passholder previews being planned before that, apparently that you can't make restaurant reservations for. Personally I don't think anyone should expect any kind of soft opening prior to November 19.

New details have emerged for the Be Our Guest Restaurant that will be a part of the New Fantasyland in Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. Some new revelations were announced by Disney and they include some changes including moving up the date that reservations can be made from August 28, 2012 to August 20, 2012. Check out the list below to know all you need to know about it.
~ Advanced Dining Reservations (ADRs) can first be made at 12:00 p.m. EST on Monday, August 20, 2012. The first date that dining reservations can be made for is November 19, 2012 when the previews of the New Fantasyland begin. Beginning on August 20, 2012, ADRs can be made up to 180 days out and only by calling 407-WDW-DINE or visiting the guest services of any Walt Disney World theme park or resort.
Online reservations will be available beginning on August 22, 2012.
~ Lunch at Be Our Guest will be on quick-service credit for lunch and one table-service credit for dinner on the Disney Dining Plan.
~ A credit card will be needed to make a reservation and the same $10 per person cancellation fee will be in place.
