for ordering ahead on the app for quick service lunch - is an ADR still needed?
 
This is a very popular restaurant so I say "yes" if you want to eat there. I've seen people waiting outside but not sure how long they have to wait. Your best bet is to get a ADR then order with app.
 
Thanks for the replies. I've been striking out for ADRs (I've never been lucky with this one!). I'll keep trying!
 

We are going next to last week in October. I have not tried that. I do subscribe to TP though...I'll check it out. Thanks for the tip!

I placed our lunch BOG order today....for a month from now. The Disney site was acting all kinds of weird but I managed to get the order through. Will I be receiving a confirmation email about this lunch preorder? Thanks!

That's what I was afraid of. How hard would it be for them to send a simple "We received your order." email? Oh, well.

You can go back in and review and/or change your order anytime between now and your reservation. If it shows up when you go review it, they've got it.
 
update on the reservations finder: very cool tool! Unfortunately, it's still very hard to get an ADR for Be Our Guest! I got a hit today. Received the text message. Was on the app trying to reserve in less than two minutes. Nothing available. But hopeful it will hit again.

I haven't been able to find anything either. Going the same time. I had a reservation but I decided that I didn't want to go to BOG about 20 or so days ago, so i let it go. Should have kept it....should have kept it..

Those people waiting in line DO have an ADR to eat .... they just didn't pre-order their food so are in line to get to the ordering kiosks.

To OP, I don't think you can pre-order if you don't have an ADR ... how would MDE know to open it up to let you order? Keep trying.
 
You cannot preorder without an ADR and you also cannot preorder via the app. You must have and ADR and Preorders can only be placed via the MDE website

Thanks. I have not been since the "ordering from the app" became an option, so I don't know how that works at all. But I now know from this thread that you need an ADR to eat there for any meal at any time, and that if I get one for breakfast or lunch, I should order my food in advance!

Do keep trying. A lot of people make more bookings than they need for many reasons- even the day before people will cancel.
 
I was able to book bog lunch 2 days in advance for my last trip. I had been trying for about 2 months prior and nothing. Of course my daughter got a stomach bug and we had to cancel it
