We just spent 9 glorious days at BCV. It was our first experience at that resort and we absolutely loved it. We had a 1BR (Room 446) and it was just lovely. We were able to see some of the high Epcot fireworks, although that is nothing compared to actually seeing the show at Epcot itself.
We LOVED Stormalong Bay. My small complaint is that it seems like such a far walk from the villas, especially when you've spent a lot of time walking around the parks in the heat. One day we went to the quiet pool and it was nice. However, my son loved the "sand pool" and there was always a lot of kids to play with there, so he wanted to go there all of the time.
My other complaint (more like a pet peeve) about the pool is a common one among all of the resorts: people put a white towel down on a group of chairs in the morning and never come back. It is just ridiculous and inconsiderate. One day, I sat there for several hours next to chairs that had white towels on them and no one ever showed up. I just don't get it. Why do people do that...especially at such a popular pool? You know that no one is using them because there is not one other personal item there -- no shoes, bags, coverups, etc. Also, I saw several people without wristbands and I overheard them saying that they were staying at another resort. They were even buying drinks from the waiter -- didn't anyone see that they didn't have wristbands? They were a big group, too, using about 8 chairs/lounges. It was very annoying because I walked around for a while that day looking for ONE chair for myself.
We had a little issue with Mousekeeping. Since we were there for 9 days, we had a full clean scheduled on day 4. When we returned from the pool late that day, the door was propped open by the lock and no one was around. I discovered that the towels had been replaced and it was obvious that the CM neglected to close the door.
We didn't get our full clean, but only a trash and towel. I keep all of our valuables in the safe, including my son's DS, so I wasn't concerned about anything of value being taken, but it was a strange feeling to think that anyone could have walked into that room and waited for us. I called Mousekeeping and spoke with the staff manager, who apologized profusely and said he would investigate it further. They came the next day and did the full clean and he personally inspected the room to be certain it was done to his satisfaction. We had lots of extra supplies, i.e. shampoo, dishwasher detergent, etc. Later that day, we received a surprise -- a white chocolate Mickey Mouse, 4 gigantic chocolate covered strawberries, cookies, and milk. It was nice gesture of apology.
I scheduled a photo session at the resort and I am so happy I did. I am a single mother and I have no pictures of me and my son. I'm always the one taking the pictures. I booked the photographer for 20 minutes, which was more than enough time. He took 40 photos, but I'm sure he could have taken more if my son would have moved more quickly. Can't rush that kid unless you are dangling a chocolate-covered carrot in his face.
I highly recommend the service. We got some beautiful photos and I plan to do it again in the future.
We plan to visit BCV again!!!
