BCV Vs BWV?

We have never stayed at a DVC property but are thinking about it for our next trip. I just wanted to know if anyone had an opinion on whether it is worth an extra 24 points to stay at the BCV over the BWV. Look forward to reading some opinions! Thanks in advance!!

I will assume that you are thinking of renting points (and are not an owner). The points to stay at BCV are exactly the same as the points to stay at BWV in a preferred view. The majority of the rooms at BWV are preferred view. Unless you can find a BWV owner to make a ressie 10-11 months ahead of arrival, the liklihood of getting a standard view room is quite small. They book very quickly, especially the studios. It's best to plan on a preferred view if you are renting points and/or have less than a 11 month lead time.

IMHO, both BWV & BCV are great resorts. Rooms are the same size and layout in each EXCEPT that BWV has Grand Villas (BCV does not) and BCV has some 2 bedroom units that have 2 queen sized beds in the second bedroom (most have 1 queen bed and 1 double sleeper sofa). Both have excellent locations and hotel-like amenities. BCV has what most consider the best pool on property, Storm-Along-Bay. BWV has Luna Park (usually much less crowded than SAB). Staying at the BWV gives you the possiblity of a Boardwalk view (views are not guaranteed). I'm sure others will chime in with their opinions. IMHO, You'll have fun whichever you choose.

I would say some of it may depend on the age of your children. I'm NOT sayng all would not enjoy either resort, I'm just saying one may be al ittle more conducive to some ages than the other if you HAD to choose. I would choose BWV for older kids (16 and up) because they would enjoy the Boardwalk activities and would like walking the Boardwalk on their own. Younger kids (0 to 18)will LOve stormalong bay (as will older kids too). The older kids may just love the activity at the Boardwalk a little more. They ar both wonderful though and it is hard to choose one over the othr. Mine love te pool at BCV but the older ones like the Boardwalk activities and crowds. Good luck choosing!

One reason we bought at BCV but never had at BWV is that we anticipate it being a quieter resort which happens to be important to us. If your family enjoys a bustling atmosphere, you'll probably love BWV. Of course, we could be wrong about BCV having a relaxed atmosphere...we'll find out in October. If that is the case, I'm sure OKW will be fine for us and apparently easier to book.
