BCV vs. BWV - What should we do?

Hi everybody - as you can see from my signature, we are die-hard fans of VWL, but I've been anxious to try something different. I finally talked DH into staying at BWV for our next trip in Feb 2007 (I know it's a long way off, but it's never too early to plan!) He likes the idea of walking to Epcot, so that is how I got him to agree! We've had dinner in the Boardwalk area before, so we know that we like the general atmosphere.

The other day DH was talking to our neighbors, who are also DVC members and owners at BCV. They were telling him how we should really consider staying there instead, they like it better than BWV. They feel that the pool at BCV is much better. Would this make staying at BCV worthwhile?

So, since I have never stayed at either BWV or BCV, I'd like to hear about the pros and cons of each resort from those who have stayed in both. Thanks in advance for your help!

I love both resorts and I own at BWV. One of the advantages of BWV is that we can book a Standard View in the 11 month window. Depending on when you are planning to go in February you will not be able to get a SV. So ... the "cost" of BWV and BCV are the same.

I have a couple of questions. What size unit will you be renting? How old are your kids?

Its simple for us, we recommend BWV "IF" you can reserve the guaranteed BW View (except maybe spring break). The 2nd br atBCV can be reserved with 2 queens if you need it. You cant go wrong at either one actually.

We've stayed in both and I recommend either. Having said that, there are some differences for us that we prefer.

BCV does have the best pool, with better lunch options (Beaches & Cream and Hurricane Hanna's), and it is slightly closer to Epcot. But, it is still behind the Beach Club and you have to either walk around or through it to get to Epcot. We don't care for the character b-fast nor the Clam bake buffet at Cape May. But, others do.

We love the bakery at the BWV and we love taking a short walk to go get some items for breakfast. Spoodles is also one of our favorite restaurants. BWV has community hall, which our children love. BWV is also in between MGM + Epcot. I.e. Probably the shortest walk to 2 parks of any resort. Lastly, our family loves the nightlife at BWV.

Thanks to all who have responded so far. We are looking to book a 1-BR unit. We have a DS who will be 15 and a DD who will be 8. We're looking for President's week next Feb so I don't know how much luck we will have booking either at the 7 month window. We own at WVL and SSR.

It sounds so far like both are great resorts! Decisions, decisions...

We always stay at BWV but are trying BCV in May, mainly to use SAB. I don't know how much you'd get to use SAB in February though since the weather can still be cold then. :confused3

That's a busy week. We waitlisted for BWV around 10 months out and gave up 6 months prior. I suggest either A) booking at SSR/VWL 11 months out and trying to switch a 7mo. B) seeing if your neighbors might be willing to book at BCV 11 mo out for you and you can work out the reciprocation.

Here'a a little pixie dust for you! :wizard:
