Hi all, I have a logistics question. We are staying at the Beach club villas in April. My Dad will be coming in for a day visit from the coast. Where is the best place for him to park/ us to meet? Is there anywhere in the boardwalk area that they will allow him into to park, can he park right at the Beachclub or is parking at MGM and boating/walking over the answer. I use Disney transportion everytime Im there and can't seem to get my head around how the whole thing works for the "outside" world. Any help would be appreciated!

add him to your reservation and then he can get a parking pass for BCV

He can go directly to the BC. I don't know about your father but if I ever told my parents to go to the BW and make their way to the BC they would never make it...:):)

I would also suggest putting him on your reservation, that way he doesn't have to worry about using the facilities at all.

Have fun!

I third the suggestion, as long as you are not already at the maximum number for your reservation, add him to the room and then when you check in make sure to ask for a parking pass for him. When he gets there just have him tell them he is checking in an then give him the pass.

Arrange for a pass to be left at the BCV gate for him when you check in. He can then park with you at BCV.

Unfortunately, I don't think I would be able to add him to the ressie I have two adults and two kids, and we have the new dining plan. Not only would we be over the person limit I think, but we would have to pay for another person on the meal plan all week. Is it possible to park at the boardwalk without staying there? What if you are eating at a Boardwalk restaurant? We could meet them where ever they park that would not be a problem....

He could park DTD take the BWV bus. If he gets there early he can take a cab.

I see no reason why he can't park at the BCV. He can just tell the CM at the kiosk the truth - he is there to visit you for the day. Make sure he has your room number.

Best wishes -

I have a similar problem. We are staying for 9 nights in the Fall at BCV using Disney transportation and the Dining Plan. My Mom is coming to visit us there. If we add her to the ressie she has to get the DP for the entire 9 nights even if she doesn't stay but 1 or two nights. What should I do and what should she do with her car?

Can I register her car as mine if I don't have one? Advice appreciated!!

I've had family visit me before while staying at BCV. They just tell the gate who they are visiting and they check the guest register.. never been a problem..

I agree. They are there to make things easier for you... not harder. The guard should let them through to visit you.

We had my DS's birthday party while we were staying at BWV and my grandfather and his friend drove up from Naples to join us...they just pulled up to the guard gate and told the guard they were there for dinner and cake with some members staying at BWV and told the guard our names - no problem at all. Come to think of it, we've stayed before where my parents stayed at another Disney resort and had them come over for dinner with no problems.

All you need to do is have him tell the guard that he is there to see his daughter who is a guest. He will need to give them the name on the reservation so they can verify you are a guest. He will be given a visitors pass and they will probably ask for ID, maybe not, and take down his license plate.

No need to park anywhere else.

This is a little different in that she is spending the night. Is she going to put you over the occupany limit for your room?

This is another problem I see with the Dining plan. One of the nice things about having DVC is booking a unit large enough to have someone join you during the trip. However if you choose the Dining plan then you can't get an ID for them for the pool or Extra Magic Hours. It's kinda mess.

Thank you all for your advice. You have eased my worries!!!! :thumbsup2
