We are sataying at BCV in late Sept. and have friends staying off property. I know they changed the rules so that DVC'ers can't pool hop at the Beach Club pool anymore, but can I have my friends over to use the pool since we are staying there? If not, how would they know my friends aren't staying there? Do they check for room keys at the pool? Thanks.

They do check resort id's most of the time. You have a choice of trying to sneak them in, or asking the front desk what their policy is for guests of resort guests.

They do check for room keys and you are then issued a bracelet. CM's do walk around anc check for the bracelets and if they see someone not wearing one, they will ask for a room key. If you don't have one from either the YC, BC or BCV, you are asked to leave. When we stayed at the YC two weeks ago, they needed to see ALL of my room keys for my whole party, my 4 year old included!!!! So, I had to bring all 3 with me to get into the pool to receive 3 bracelets.

Thanks for the info. I guess I can understand their policy. The pool is going to be crowded as it is. Thanks so much for your quick response.

We just returned from the BCV, and I have to say that they did check the room keys at SAB, but it was sufficient to show just one key for my family of 6. I think it all depends on who is checking you in.

I don't always get a room key or the kids. so that would be a problem.

What type of a room do you have/ If it is a 2 bedroom you can tell the front desk that friends will be coming in at a lter date to stay w/ youand you will need an additional parking pass and room key. I have had to do that for my mom and brother & his kids when they have arrived a few days into my stay. Of course that was not at BCV.

RJ' Dad and others,

I was just at Beach Club and BCV for 2 weeks, the pool (SAB) was open for my family and my guests which I brought in 3 family members that live in florida, only needed to show my card to get in SAB, absolutely no problem at all.

As far as Dunes Cove goes, there's not even anyone over there to check ID's so you could bring who ever you wanted, again the pool was not even busy. And it is allowed.

Pools are for resort guests and their guests that visit them, that's what I was told by several CM's at Beach Club, and for that matter without starting another SAB thread, I felt there was plenty of room for fellow DVC's to hop.

What the heck, it's only a pool, we are all after the same time, fun in water, besides it's awesome people watching area. LOL.

Have a great week and come on in the water's fine.

Thanks for all your responses. We have 2 studios reserved. One for my family and one for my in-laws. I'd really like to get my friends in there to see the pool and property. They are great prospects to be future DVC'ers and all I need is to get them in there and it should sell itself! It worked for my in laws! We took them to VWL in a 2-bdr. and they joined after just 2 days. The magic is very contagious!!!!

Why don't you go visit your friends where they are staying off property and swim there?

with 2 studios - you are entitled to 8 keys - get them - if your friends have a problem - you will have the keys - (your name as the DVC member will be on all the keys)

Agreed. You could even list them on your reservation if you have enough spots open.
