BCV March 6 reservations

We just purchased 200 points for the Beach Club Villas. The first day that reservations will be available is March 6. We were told that it will be a free for all, since the villas will also be available to cash customers. Any suggestions or tips as to how to "make sure" we can get a reservation for the third week in September or the first week in December would be greatly appreciated.

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS AND WELCOME HOME! And welcome to the DIS, too.

Cash reservations for the BCV are available right now. CRO has been taking them since the first part of February. Rooms renting for cash come from the developer's inventory. The rooms available for points are from the inventory that has been "declared into the condominium". That inventory is separate from the "cash inventory". You will not be competing wiht the general public for your September and December reservations. (60 days and less prior to check out, the points inventory rooms are available to CRO to rent for cash as well as to members to rent for points. Perhaps that is what the individual meant by the "free for all" comment).

IMHO, the September reservation will be more difficult to obtain (but certainly not impossible) because you will be competing with any DVC member who would like to reserve at that time. (All of September will be within the 7 month window on March 6). You will only be competing with other BCV owners for the December reservation so I would expect that time period to be a little easier to get.

My advice is to call MS right at opening on March 6 to make both reservations. Call a few times before March 6 to listen to the menu and write down the options so you don't waste time on March 6. (You can key in your options without listening to the menu if you know which ones you need). Be prepared for busy signals and keep dialing until you get through. GOOD LUCK!
