We'll be staying in a 1 bdrm BCV for the first time in February. I would really appreciate any advice on what 1bdrms offer good views (EPCOT ideally) as well as any advice on where we should ask to be with 1 preschooler (who refuses to use a stroller).

We don't want to ask too much, just generally: upper? view? distance to entrance and/or pool? Any to avoid?

Thanks for helping make my 40th b-day trip special!

Here is a link with some room reports and it will give you some view comments. http://members.aol.com/InstImpres/beachclub.pdf
This will give you an idea of “sectional views”. It is extremely difficult to ask for a specific room (as well as trying on the CM’s). With the new room ready policy, guests have reported getting several choices at check-in and this may than help

The file is in adobe acrobat and which can be downloaded from this site for free:

Just remember that "good" is a subjective term. Last year I asked for Epcot, but got woods/wetlands. Really liked it. This year, at check-in, I was offered the much-desired Epcot view, a room that someone else had loved the view from. While it was OK, I missed my woods/wetland view-like to see trees and hear birds chirp more, I guess. That's why we don't all fight for the same room!

Simba's Mom, I am with you. I had the woodlands view in Dec and I liked it! I also like the rooms down by the end near the parking lot. It sure is convienent to the car when hauliing groceries and after a long day!

I am one of those person's who really doesn't care what my view is....just give me a clean NS room and I can be happy!

I agree and it's nice to hear this. I always request something as my first choice but am never disappointed by the room I receive as long as it's clean and NS. I like the pool view at the BCV but many prefer the others.

If you're going to be coming back to your room occasionally, I would ask for a room near an elevator if your preschooler won't ride in a stroller. We had 6 kids between the ages of 1 & 6 with us last week, and we were moderately far from the elevator. The only kid who regularly melted down was the 4 yr. old who refused to ride in a stroller (and he doesn't have tantrums at home). I think he was exhausted from all the walking at the BCV and in the parks.
