BCV Lobby Checkin closing

Member site is reporting that the trial of the BCV lobby checkin is closing as of 6-1 and all BCV checkin will again be handled be the Main Guest Checkin Desk of the Beach Club Resort.

It was a nice try. Too bad they couldn't get their act together. Every time we used the desk there was a long wait and the CM seemed confused. They also had to call the BC front desk to make changes to your room assignment.

I am really sad to hear this. We used this check in desk twice and we liked it.
One time, there was one person ahead of us in line and the other time we walked right up.
The first time was last Oct and the second time we used it was Apr 5th.
I felt like we were getting special attention by having our own check in desk. The staff was very nice and very helpful and very knowledgeable about the DVC product. The second time we checked in at this desk, they even asked us our room preference. We didn't have any special requests, they just had several rooms available and asked what we preferred (which was a lower floor that didn't face the pool). We had arrived a little bit early (around midday), and our room was ready.

We have never stayed there but sorry about the desk closing.

Oh no! I really, really liked having check in at the villas. It was much faster (at least for us) than checking in at the main lobby. Plus, it was so nice to have the CMs downstairs in case you needed something. They could print off your bill, check you in for your flight home, answer your questions, etc. I even e-mailed MS when I got home and told them how much we liked the BCV check in. I got a phone call from Disney thanking me for the compliment and she mentioned that she had a call earlier from someone complaining about it. I felt like the ones that worked at BCV seemed to understand the Villas so much more than the ones at BC.

Oh well, at least we get to check in once more at the Villas when we arrive on Sunday.

As luck would have it, we check in on June 1. Do I just proceed to the main BC check in lobby? Will BCV checkin be open on June 1?

I actually had to wait at this desk twice for a very long time. I never logged a complaint so it's not my fault that it's closing.

It was an excruciating experience to sit behind 1 guest for such a long time and then have our check in take just as long. Plus it took 3 CM's to do it.

I am glad to see it go, because I prefer the BC lobby and I like to visit with Art.

I never found it to be a hassle checking in at the BC.

I couldn't even find the BCV check-in last week, so I just used the regular BC check-in area and had no problems whatsoever!!!
