Is there free laundry at BCV the same way there is at other DVC resorts? I looked at a resort map but only saw the locations of laundry machines marked at both Y&BC resorts and not the villas. We're staying in a studio and will not have machines in our room.

Thanks!

Yes, there is free laundry at BCV. If I recall correctly there is only one laundry room but I don't remember which floor its on.

Fourth floor and you'll need your room key to get in.

Thanks for the room key info. That must be new-I didn't need my room key in December, and never needed it before. But I'm glad to see that they changed it-I think it makes sense.

Thanks! Saves us some time that we would have spent checking to see if it's by the pool like at SSR.

no it is about as far from the pool as possible.

don't know why Disney is not putting it on their maps :confused3

they are definitely puttiing the paid laundry on the map.

I would guess they are not putting it on the map because it is for DVC members only (or their guests). When I have had a studio at BCV, the laundry machines are incredibly hard to get. There are only two washers if I recall correctly and they were always busy when I wanted to use them. At one point a woman in the room was talking about how she came over from the Yacht Club as those machines were busy -- it made me cranky. "Free laundry" is a DVC perk.

The laundry is approximately across from room #412. I stayed in #412 once and felt like the laundry was part of my room! The room key access is a new thing; you've have never needed it before. I would imagine that only Villas keys open the door.

There certainly should be. It's a DVC perk, advertised at the tour (at least when I took the tour). They should have added a laundry room when they renovated Jambo to make DVC rooms. You can ask at check-in but I would be very surprised if there was no DVC laundry facility.

The AKV laundry is on the fifth floor near the beginning of the Zebra trail. Here you do need a key card to access the laundry.

I don't remember if I needed a card at BCV; tend to think not. I also don't think I needed one at BWV (down near Muscles and Bustles on the 1st floor). So this may be new.

My gripe about BCV was the woman staying in a 1 or 2 br who was using the laundry because she felt it was too loud in her villa! :scared1:

I don't think they like to advertise the whereabouts of the 'free' laundry rooms. I know that I've been in both BCV and BWV laundry rooms and there have been folks there that weren't DVC! I overhear, one time, people saying how nice it was to have the free laundry room but it would be nicer if they put them over on the Inn side so they didn't have to walk so far!!
And there was the time I was at BCV, coming from the Marketplace, when a guest walked over from the lobby area and asked me where the free laundry room was...with a huge pile of laundry in a basket in her arms. I asked her if she was looking for the DVC area laundry room. Her answer? "Oh, I'm not with DVC, I just need to find the free washers and dryers. Someone told me they were down here." I answered that there were free laundry facilities but they were for DVC owners only and that you had to have a DVC card to access the room. Okay, a bit of a stretch I know....but at the time you didn't have to have a key to get in. I've always thought you should need a villa key card.
That woman's answer to my statement? It was oh so nice...."Well, with what I'm paying at the YC, you would think I could get free laundry service!!!" as she stomped off. I'm bad, I know it.
