BCV chances at 7 months out

We plan to rent points from a member friend to travel in mid-October. I'm looking at two studios at BCV, dates are Oct 13-19.

I know this is a highly-coveted travel period at a popular resort. I just wondered if you think we have any chances to get two (possible three) studios at BCV if we book at 7 months out?

Would you recommend identifying a second choice and booking that now (our friend owns at VWL and BWV so we could book one room, and hope to switch to another... if that's allowed per DVC).

Also, if we want to be sure that we're all at the same resort, and if we have to waitlist, would you recommend reserving all rooms under one name (so that if the waitlist comes through, it has to come through for all rooms), or does DVC have a way to do that automatically if they are made under different names?

For F&W time, BVW & BCV are the two popular resorts. Maybe right at 7 months you can get a studio at BCV, but your friend has the home advantage at BWV, book there and try to change.

You can book one unit per wait list, and your friend is allowed 2 active waitists at any given time per use year, so if you had to wait list, they may all not come through.

If you know for sure you are going, I would have your friend book you something now and then try to switch at 7 months.

As mentioned, you can only put in 2 WL's at one time so if you need 3 rooms, there is no way to wait list for all of them.

And, because they are individual wait lists, you could have one room come through and not the other. Wait lists for multiple rooms can be tough for this reason.

You would not have been able to for October 2011. We booked a BCV studio at the 8.5 month mark, and asked for any date in October that had availability for 5 nights in a row. Only one week of the entire month had a studio for the full 5 nights, at 8.5 months out. I think the chances of getting 2 or 3 studios at BCV for the same week in October are slim to none - you might luck out and get one studio. I would get your friend to book the rooms now at BWV before the 7 month window opens, and any DVC owner can book them for Food and Wine.

Stranger thing have happened, but I'd be really surprised
