I am planning a 10 night stay in "The World". I was wondering if it would be easier to get a 7 night discount rate at a BCV (Whenever they come out), instead of a 10 night res. I didn't know if they are generally booked in blocks of time because it is "kind Of" like a time share situation. If that is the case then I would book 3 nights somewhere else in "The World" and concentrate on getting a 7night at a BCV! Many Disney thanks in advance!:earsgirl:

Hi. If you want to stay at the BC Villas, my suggestion would be to rent points from a DVC member, as you will probably get a better rate. There are alot of honest people on the Dis Boards who are willing to work with you. I would post a message on DVC board and see what you come up with.
ENJOY!!

First off, hoping for a discount for BCV is wishful thinking. BCV is one of the most popular (if not the most popular)DVC resort with members. It is usually booked solid by DVC members MONTHS in advance, usually well before discounts can be released. While CRO does obtain a few rooms for cash reservations, they are few and far between, leaving discounts basically non-existant. Also, with DVC's point structure, it doesn't work like a typical timeshare meaning rooms are only rented out in 7 night blocks. A DVC member can stay for as little as one night, and as many nights as their points allow them too. For example, we own 425 points, which would allow me to stay 4 weeks in a studio during the lowest season, or only 6 nights in a two bedroom druing the Holiday Season. All completely allowed using DVC's system. If you truly want to stay at BCV I'd look into renting points from a DVC member, as they have the best availability and can then book the entire stay for you.

Much thanks for your response! It put things in a different light for me. I think that I will try to get a standard BC room, unless I have luck over at the DVC board!:earsgirl:

I rented for the last trip, this trip and the next trip! It's the way to go and I made a new friend who lives in my state!

Interesting... We are not DVC members but we're staying 8 nights in a 1br at BCV in mid-November. There was plenty of availability and we got the fall dream-maker discount without difficulty. Maybe the studios are more in demand?

Disney holds a certain number of rooms aside to rent to non-members but for the price I will always book through a member. Our 1 bedroom is costing us less than 1/2 of what we would have paid going through Disney!
