BCV and WDW Rehabs in Feb. (and some fictional items for fun!)

We’re going to BCV early February. The rehab list seems to keep growing. I’m still very excited about the trip, but I’m just venting a bit. Our friends will be staying with us at BCV for the first time and no Flying Jib at SAB and no Atlantic Wardrobe store. I heard there is a temporary store?

Then there’s all the WDW rehabs - Wall around the Circle by the Castle, IASW, Dumbo, Astro Orbiters, Living Land... Oh, and no Wishes 3 nights we’re there – hopefully that means expected low attendance???

I’m hoping nothing else at BCV happens. It could be worse. For Example:

Art has wardrobe malfunction, expected to return after Superbowl.
Beaches and Cream closed to reopen as South Beach (No Cream) Diet Shop.
Quiet Pool experimenting with loud rap music piped in to invigorate guest experience.
Epcot International Gateway closed to become future Character meet and greet site.

All kidding aside, I am looking forward to a wonderful week at BCV with friends and family. DVC is MY rehab!

Dad and I are taking first timers Jan 30 - Feb 4 and I'm a little disappointed too. Along with all the rehabs you already mentioned, they're also supposed to be getting the castle ready for the 50th Anniversary Celebration. What that means, I don't know. Scaffolding? Tarps? Plus fixing the sidewalks on Main St. USA. And yes, we're still excited about the trip and know that's the down side to going during a slow time when most of the closures are.

BCV is my home resort and I was a little bummed when I couldn't get in there, but now with all the rennovations I'm a little glad we're not staying there this time. We'll be at BWV. A Pooh sized lady with three seniors on ECV's, if you see us say hi!

I agree, we'll also be there in February and that green wall around the hub looks yucky!

Oh, this would just be a nightmare!!!!

I feel your pain!!

Rehab and more rehab!! Arg!! Lets not forget all the Disney changes in the last month and a half (usually after my PS's and ressies were made!)... the EMH change... the AP discount.... then the MYW tickets... then the AP price increase... let's not forget the ever changing dining plan!! It's driving me nuts!

Ya! Who diets while at WDW?!? Not me...
I diet to go to WDW to eat. :earboy2:

I hear you! I'm putting in extra time at the gym after my Christmas binge so I can do it all over again! I love dining at Disney. In fact I signed up for the Disney Dining Experience. Let's see, this trip: Beaches and Cream, Rose n Crown, Spoodles, Beaches and Cream, California Grille, Cape Mae, Liberty Tree Taverm, did I mention Beaches and Cream?

Jennymouse, unfortunately we're arriving on the 5th. You'll just have to stay another day or two! I've never met anyone from the DIS in person, so I plan to pay close attention to lime green this trip. I need to find some for my backpack.

And Lulu71, is that baby counter for you? I thought it might be the cute Minnie dog, but I did the math and dogs don't take 9 months. So... Congratulations!

Tooneric, I ordered the DDE card, too! :earboy2:

I'll be wearing my DIS lime green pin so if anyone sees me please say hello!

I've worn the pin on two trips. First one, nobody said anything to me. :(

But last October I meet several DISers! :grouphug:

Yep...it's for me. Thanks for the congrats!!

Wall around the Circle by the Castle

Most of the other rehabs I can live without, but I was really disappointed when I heard about this one - and then saw a picture of it too!

Sorry about all your BCV rehabs. As you see, we're at OKW, so none of those really affect us. Just keeping my fingers crossed that our slide will be open by then!!

Shan, I'll look for your pin. So I take it you won't be donning your Alice costume? Too cute! I did pick up one of those Lime Green Mickey Paint Samples from Home Depot. I just need to figure out what to do with it!

Bexx, I hope you're slide is open as well. Last February we had a little bit of every kind of weather. In one day we started at Epcot and were HOT, so went swimming at SAB, went to MK where it rained and turned COLD as a front came through. The next evening was freezing (at least for us Southerners!). So I hope you do get to swim and the new slide is ready.

You forgot:

Efficient housekeeping staff replaced by incompetent maids of questionable immigration status.

Oh I do hope that one is made-up too.
