I booked a standard view room at BC for our OCTOber honeymoon and requested a non-smoking room prefer a KING bed. IS there anything else I should request or should I just cross my fingers and hope for an upgrade? Should I ask for a balcony room? In know PamNC had a terrific room but I can't remember what number...I feel like I am pestering the staff with all these requests but I do want everything to be special. Do any of the standard view rooms face Epcot or the water at all, or should I expect parking lot (which wouldn't be the end of the world hahahaha).

October is a REALLY busy month for the BW area resorts, and I wouldn't hold my breath for much as far as an upgrade. I know that you want your honeymoon to be everything plus some, but there are thousands of honeymooners at WDW at any given time, and they simply can't give everyone an upgrade. Book what you'll be happy with, don't expect anything else, and be pleasantly surprised if you get more.

There are a very limited number of beds at the BC, so that's something I really wouldn't ount on. You should ahve no problem with non-smoking and a balcony though.

Thanks! This is the kind of info I need. I booked a standard room cause frankly, on our honeymoon, we aint's starin' out the window much when we are in our room!!! HOWEVER, it would be nice to have a nice room too. The most important things to us are non-smoking, and a King bed, a balcony and then the view (in that order). We are pretty easy to please. Frankly we booked the BC because of the resort. I figure most of our resort time will be spent on the beach or at SAB.

So I should probably just call CRO and tell them we'd like a non-smoking room, and if available a KIng bed with a balcony?

I was looking at our ressie for CR (we are staying one nigh there when we arrive) and we booked the tower and requested MK view, non-smoking and a King Bed. I was shocked to see that there were NO requests on my BC ressie at all! I was sure I'd told them at least non-smoking.

Standard rooms at the BC face either the parking lot, courtyard/walking path to Epcot, or BCV. I had a great standard room facing the BCV (room 3552), but it only had a standing-room balcony. Plus, there was a queen bed plus daybed in the room, no king bed. Location wise, it was great - just to the end of the hall, out the door, and the walking path to Epcot was right there.

Hope this helps!

I had a horrible standard room a few years ago that had a view that looked upon the roof of the entrance way! YUK!!!

Cindy, was the room itself awful or just the view?

I plan on requesting a full balcony overlooking a courtyard for our 10th anniversary next year. We didn't care for water view since we are also going on a cruise and will see a lot of water there! But I don't want a parking lot view either. As a special touch, I'm going to order a cake from Boardwalk bakery, and some special treats (chocolate covered strawberries and chocolate mickey) from the hotel restaurant.
I suggest that you order any special treats on your own. WDW will most likely not recognize that it's a special occation for you. Congrats on your wedding! What a special day for you! We honeymooned at WDW 9 years ago (today is our 9th anniversary). :lovestruc

The rooms are the same whether you book standard or water view, only the view changes.

As many have said if a view is important, it is best to book it and pay for it rather than hope for a particular request and be disappointed.

Requests for certain views are never a guarantee.
