BC or YC for December? Help me decide!

I'm going in December with DH and 3 kids, aged 11, 8 and 3. We're splitting our stay between the Poly and either YC or BC.

I have ressies at YC, but am ambivalent.

I prefer BC's decor (from the photos I've seen) and more casual feel, but am concerned about the rehab. For that reason, and for the guaranteed full balcony, I chose YC, but am having second thoughts.

Please let me know what you think. If you've been at BC during the rehab, how was it? Are kids "welcomed" at YC? Are the balconies safe for supervised preschoolers? The YC looks so staid... and I've heard the BC Xmas decos are awesome.

All this angst for 3 nights!!!

Shall I try to switch to BC?

TIA for any advice or input!

Angel1,

We've stayed at the Yacht Club twice, once at Christmas. Honestly, to me anyway. the BC and the YC are just one giant hotel with their own check in desk and separate decor. Guests at both resorts share pools, restaurants, etc. As I understand it, the YC has just finished being refurbished, while the BC is the one getting worked on now. If I was going, I would stay at the YC during the Christmas season, simply because it's been freshly redone. Just my opiniln. The YC theme is nautical, while the BC's is seaside.

We've stayed at both and will be at the YC in December. We like both but prefer the YC. You can BC when ever you want to look at decorations or what ever. The balcony should be okay if you are going to supervise them. We always sat out with the kids you just never know.

We stayed at the BC in December, and the decorations were fabulous, but they were wonderful all over the world. We stayed at the YC and August, and the kids were just as welcomed there. From the pics it looks like it would be stuffy, but it's not. There were tons of kids in the lobby and hallways in wet swimsuits, just like at the other hotels we've stayed at. I think you will be happy at either resort. If you really want the balcony, stay at the YC, I don't think you'll regret it at all!

It's my understanding that the YC rehab will be complete by December.

Enjoy your trip!

Here are some pictures of our stay at the Yacht Club in August.

I was in the same boat as you on deciding. I like the colors and the feel of the Beach Club over the YC in the pictures.

I have to say though, that I loved the YC it's elegant but not in stuffy way. My kids are 7 and 5 and both were fine on the balcony. The railing is high enough that my 7 year old's head just barely made it over the top of it.

The kids were very welcomed at the YC.

Do you have a link with more pix?

Thanks for your advice. I think we'll stick with our YC ressies!
