BC or BLT

I have a trip booked
12-16 - 12-20 Studio at BC
12-20 - 12-24 1 bed room currently SSR (want to try get or wait list AK)

I have to split stay, because I cannot go withtout my BIG TUB, and I cannot afford the points for a 1 bed-room whole trip. Last half I am sure of.

Hubby, DD5 and I have stayed at BC a few times. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! In Dec, I think the pool might be too cold to swim.

Should I try get/waitlist BLT, would it be better, assuming swimming isn't an option? Walking to MK. OR should I stay with standard LOVE of BC, and walk to Epcot.
This would only be for the 1st 4 nights 7 month window opens Sunday. We are AP holders, so hopping is no prob, we will have TIW, not the DP. (90% 1 TS will be Poly Lau.)

We stayed at BCV the 1st week of December 2009. The Weather was warm.(80's) I hope it is for you!
We love BCV. We will be staying at BLT for the 1st time this year with a MK view, so I can't say if you should change.

I would stay at BC...it seems like there would be more going on with decorations and such in that area. Easier to get to Epcot for all the storytelling. I know people say it is easy to walk to MK from BLT...but that seems longer than the walk form BC to Epcot. I don't know there is something wonderful about being at the resort you love at least part of the time. Like wrapping yourself in a warm blanket. I would be kicking myself if I didn't stay where I loved for a few nights.

Why can't you do a split stay at both BCV & BLT?

After reading the OP signature, I would try for BLT...

Last December, the weather was bad enough that they had to extend the days for the Christmas parade filming. That time of year, weather can be hit or miss.

If AK works out, I cannot split, as I am already splitting. The second half is AK in a 1 bed room, and 3 diff resorts is tooooo many. It is only 8 nights.

I need to stay at AK for 2 reasons. 1) DH has been begging for like a year to go there, and it is WAY less points. So that would be 1st choice, but if that isn't open. A 50-50 BLT and BC would be 1000000% perfect.

I guess either will be a win.

Honestly, we loved BCV more than BLT. I loved the convenience of BLT to MK (since we spend a lot of time there), but the ambience at BCV can't be beat! Plus you can walk to Epcot and take the boat to DHS. However, it depends where you are going to be spending most of your days. If it's MK, then you could try BLT. We just fell in love with BCV, much more character!

I like BCV a little better. Honestly, I'd say figure which you are going to go to more Epcot and studios or MK and then choose accordingly

I haven't stayed in a BLT studio, and I don't want to, so I would stay with BCV! We have stayed in a dedicated 2 bedroom at BLT and really like those accomodations! We were at BLT and saw their Christmas decorations and I was impressed. I like BLT, but not the studio lay out.

We love BLT but have not yet tried BCV (but will be in July). I have heard that BLT is pretty booked right now and you may not even find any availability and have to wait list.

But, the walk to MK in December is great. We did it last year for a quick 2 day trip. It was just so nice but then again, we are huge CR fans and only bought DVC because of BLT so a wee bit biased.

Whereever you end up, it will be a great trip!!

BLT check in is July 21st and BCV July 25th. You'll have to tell me what you think when you get back!!

love BLT. only stay in its studios.

but for a family of 4 - it is small.

would go with BCV. when you can afford a 1-bedroom then try BLT.

plus since you have a son and daughter - don't think the bathroom at BLT would work for you. remember there is no lock on this door and it does not close all the way.
