BC Concierge hours

Hi,

I've tried a search, but just can't find them Anybody have recent info on the hours the lounge is open/food is out? Thanks a bunch

I called the concierge desk to ask this very question. The lounge opens at 7am-10:30am for breakfast and then they close for cleaning. (doors will be locked) They then will reopen later for the daily offerings but close the doors between each "food session" and you are NOT allowed to be in the lounge. You can however go in and request a "drink" as the doors are not locked, but you must take it elsewhere to consume it. The lounge closes for the day at 10pm.
I have also been told that the lounge is VERY small and that it can be very hard to get a table to eat breakfast there. That would make it VERY difficult for my family having to either wait for a table or cart everything back to our room to eat. Needless to say, I changed our reservation over to the Poly knowing the lounge there is open from 7am-10pm and I can use the lounge throughout the day when it is convienant for us. I do not want to have to schedule my visits to a lounge that I am paying for in the first place!! HTH

the lounge is VERY small there. The poly lounge is huge but when i was there it was kid runnig wild all over it and not supervised. I would stay there again but it was really annoying.

Thanks so much for the replies. I had heard that the BC closes during the day, and I agree that's a drag. Actually, we wanted to stay at the Poly the whole time, but due to no availability we'll be doing a split stay. I really wanted to know when they opened in the morning. We are going at the crazed holiday period, and need to get to park openings, so am glad to hear we'll be able to grab soemthing and go.

I changed our reservation over to the Poly knowing the lounge there is open from 7am-10pm and I can use the lounge throughout the day when it is convienant for us.

Just so you know after they complete the breakfast service the lounge does not actually close, but the Cast Member move all the tables and chairs so they can clean and etc. However it's only for a brief time when you are not able to sit at any tables in the lounge.

I hope that is the case for all who stays there, but the CM I spoke to said that they lock the door after breakfast for cleaning....no access is allowed at all. As I stated before, the other times during the day, the doors are open, but you can not sit in the lounge. Just what I was told, which I know varies from CM to CM. I personally did not want to take the chance of the lounge not being open when I wanted to use it.

We were just there last week. DH would bring breakfast back to the room for us every morning. They are open 7 - 10AM for breakfast. During the day when the snacks are out you can also request bottles of beer, but you have to ask for them. "dinner" was from 5 - 7PM. In the later evening (til 10PM) they have desserts and cordials.

The room is small! It was just the two of us so we had no problem getting a small table near the window.

Obviously if the Cast Members moved all the tables and chairs, then no one would be able to sit in them while they were cleaning up the lounge.

That is obvious, but what I was saying is I hope that the lounge stays unlocked so that guests can get a drink if they want.

Oh you don't need to worry about that. The area where they have the fridge with the Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite and the Coffee maker/Cappuccino machine is open for all guests when the lounge area is being cleaned. Also what I forgot to mention there is a little sitting area on the 3rd floor of the Hawaii Longhouse and that area is never closed off for a cleaning. So while the lounge is being cleaned you could always sit up there.

Oh My!! Sorry, but I think I may have confused things here a little bit. The lounge that I'm talking about closing is the lounge at the BC, not the Poly. The CM I spoke too specifically told me the door gets locked after breakfast and that it "closes" periodically during the day.

We've stayed in the Hawaii building many times and you're right, the 3rd floor area is nice (just to get away from everyone else sometimes , and Yes! my family included )

one thing that drove me nuts is at the YC and BC they keep the sodas on a counter not in a fridge so they arent cold. At the other resorts they are in these fridges and you help yourself.

At the Contemporary they also keep the sodas on the counter, however we always poor them into a glass and since the lounge has a bucket of ice we put some in the glass to make the drinks cold.

Well, at least the beer is cold when they put it out in the evening!
