BC buses

We are staying at BC at the end of August. I just read another thread about buses at a different resort, and at least two posters in that thread mentioned their worst bus issues were experienced while they were at BC. Eek! Just looking for others' experience and any tips. We will have our car there. We have parked at AK and found it to be convenient. Just not sure about parking at MK tho?? Seems like a pain to have to park at TTC. But if bus transportation from BC to MK is that bad maybe we should drive over? (regardless I will have to take the bus to MK at least once so I can hear the Mickey Mouse March as we pull up to MK! ;))

No matter where we stay, we always bus it to the MK and drive to the other parks. I have seen the Beach club busses shared by as many as 5 total resorts, and always with the Yacht Club, which makes sense. When all 5 are involved, it's very time consuming.

We stayed at BC last October and had no problems with bus service. We did share with YC but that was it.

Our two trips to the BC have been in July and the buses to MK and AK were only shared with YC. I timed one trip to MK and it was 12 minutes.

We take the monorail back through EPCOT most times when we return. Not because of poor bus service, but because we love a little extra EPCOT time and enjoy a few attractions along the way. Plus the monorail is TOO a ride!

The buses may share with other EPCOT resorts at other, slower times of the year, but I'm not sure exactly when that is.

Hi MinnieTink! As you can see from my signature, we've stayed at many different WDW resorts. I don't think the bus service at BC is better or worse than anywhere else. From any resort to DTD isn't great and I guess if I had to choose a resort with the worst bus service, it would probably be CBR (but definitely not BC.)

Our multiple BC stays have covered the months of January, February, March, July and August. We're usually out at the bus stop early enough to make it to MK rope drop. In busier times of year, the bus picks us up at BC and goes straight to MK (approx. 15 minute ride and they drop us off right in front of the gates.) In slower times of year, the bus stops at BWI and that adds about 3 minutes to the trip. (I timed it last year.) So I would not drive over if you're planning on getting to the park early.

We did take the bus to MK in the afternoon once, instead of at rope drop (Super Bowl parade) and the MK bus was pretty empty, so it stopped at BWI and then went to MK. Again, the BWI stop just added a few minutes to the trip.

In our experience, on the way back, the bus usually stops at Dolphin and YC before BC. By that time, we don't mind much.

You know, I'm just never sure what people are looking for in the bus system at WDW. They tend to say the bus service at the Epcot resorts is awful. Then, they go on to say how much better it is at, say CBR or CSR. But in all reality, those resorts may not 'share' a bus route with other resorts, the way BC does, but if you get on the bus at one of the first stops, you are not going to get right on the road to a park. There are multiple stops within those resorts, so not all that different than sharing a route with other resorts. At least, that was my experience staying at POR.
In any case, I routinely stay at BW, or one of the other Epcot resorts. For the park opening and closing buses, YC/BC share only with each other. But at the less busy times of day, you may very well share a bus with those from the S/D and BW. The bus to DTD may always stop at all five resorts. But really? The resorts aren't all that far away from each other, so it's not big deal.
I doubt you will find anything awful about the buses at BC.
As someone already said, busing to MK is always a good idea, even if the bus makes multiple stops. Much better than driving to TTC and then transferring to either the monorail or ferry to get to MK.

We have stayed at many different resorts as well and the experience is about the same all around. BC is our home resort and we have never had any issues.

When we stayed at the BC (kind of a busy time, right before Christmas), the buses were shared with YC/BWI/Swan/Dolphin, with the BC usually the last picked up and the last dropped off. We didn't mind too much that it took awhile to get back to our resort as we are go-with-the-flow kind of people and aren't in a hurry when on vacation, but getting to our destination was a little trying because once a bus got to the BC, it was always full with standing room only. We didn't let it ruin our vacation by any means, but it was a little frustrating having to always stand. We wouldn't let the bus situation prevent us from staying an at Epcot resort again, we would just be more prepared of what to expect. We have stayed at 1 mod and all of but 3 deluxe resorts and the best bus transportation we have found was at CBR, even with multiple stops within the resort. But like I said, taking a bit longer to get somewhere wasn't our issue at the BC.....it was fully packed buses once it got to the BC; therefore, requiring our family of 4 to constantly stand. Some people have had nothing but great experiences, while others have had horrible experiences. With that said, you won't know unless you stay there. If the BC is a resort you've been wanting to try, stick with it and see for yourself.....you may find the buses to be great :).

In terms of the MK, I generally prefer to take the bus because then you don't have to deal with the TTC. From MK, the bus back to BC shares a route with YC, but that isn't to bad. In this case, I would take the bus to and from MK. I've had pretty good luck from the BC and/or BW in getting to and from MK.

I agree with mickeynut1. The bus service certainly isn't the worst. We found the morning service to the parks to be fairly simple since the BC only shared with the YC. Afternoon return to the hotel generally took longer as we were often sent to the Swan/Dolphin and the BW as well as the YC. Also when we were at the Swan/Dolphin, we went to all the hotels every time. If you are in a hurry, take the car. If you have time to spare, relax and enjoy the ride. Busses did come quite often, however.

I've stayed at YC or BC more than a dozen times. Bus service at those resorts is no better and no worse than anywhere else. The bus doesn't always share with all of the other Epcot resorts (usually it's just YC and BC), but if it does, it's easy just to get off at the first resort the bus stops at and walk the rest of the way back to your resort from there.

Best of all, of course, is that you only need to take buses to two parks. The convenience of getting to Epcot and DHS from any Epcot resort outweights any inconvenience which may result from the bus service.

We stayed at the BCVs for the first time this past Aug. and had no problems with the bus for MK. (Every trip before this was at the BWVs and we never had a problem there either). The bus for MK was almost full the day we took it and when the first family in line got on the bus driver said it was full and left for MK. It was literally about 1 min. and an empty bus pulled in and picked up the rest of us and went straight to MK. During the time we were there the bus only was shared with YC in the morning. On the way back we take the bus that is supposed to stop at all 5 and just get off at the first stop (S/D) and walk over the bridge back to our resort. There will always be complaints about the buses but we have never had a problem, even when we stayed at the BWVs we had buses that picked us up and then went straight to MK.
