I'm short about 485 miles for our 4th and final 3 day Disney pass. I ordered three previously but was waiting to earn enough miles to get the 4th before our trip this summer. What a wonderful surprise the Safeway flyer is this week! Extreme Friday deals, combined with the bonus offers, allow me to spend a grand total of $105 on stuff we normally buy anyway (TP, juice boxes, cheese, bacon, bread) and get a whopping 510 air miles!! Woo hoo! As soon as they come through I can order the last Disney pass!

Wow!! I struggle to get 100 points at the grocery store here. No Safeway though :(

Yes, they were bought by Jimmy Pattison's Save-on-Foods. They have their own rewards system, but not as good as Safeway's. Thrifty's offers AM now, but the deals are nowhere as good as Safeway's offers. Best I ever did was spent $154 for slightly over 300AM.

Sobey's and Foodland will start offering airmiles here (Ontario) next week. I doubt they will be great offers but at least it's another chance to collect more sometimes ;)

I had no idea Save-On bought out the Safeways. Wow. I'm in the Okanagan, you'd think I'd have heard about that! LOL I shop occasionally at Save-On but I never seem to collect points very fast there.

We're so lucky to have these extreme AM deals here, honestly. Considering the exchange rate right now, being able to technically buy groceries and my disney passes at the same time is such a big help. We plan on upgrading the 3 day passes to 4 day after the first use...hopefully that's still possible.

After this trip I'll just have to come up with another goal for my airmiles... :)

S.o.F. also offers passes within their reward program. I use it for the ferry passes. Not every week is good though, but this week I'm going to spend at least $77 to get 6200 points. That's only 500 points shy of a 1-way voucher for a single person for the ferry. My goal is to save up enough for the car & driver both ways and a passenger both ways for our trip to Sun Peaks this summer. I'll still have to pay for the kids though.

At Thrifty's this week, I'll be spending about $150 (or more if I get regular groceries on top of what I'm already getting) for 193AM.

I wish we had the Safeway deals here still.

I should take a closer look at the SoF redemption booklet next time I'm in the store. I just never seem to have enough points to get more than $2 off a bag of avocados! LOL I have to say I do scrutinize the Safeway flyer carefully every week. I usually only do a big AM purchase when they have the bonus spend $100 get 125 or similar coupon on the front. I then try to spend exactly what they require, and spend it on the other big bonus (buy 2 get 30 or 50 AM) offers.

This week they have cheese on the Friday deal. It's $9.00 for a block of cracker barrel (not the biggest size) which is a couple of dollars more than I would normally spend at Superstore for the same size, but if you buy two you get 100 AM. That's 100 AM for $20 spent, which is a steal. They also offer chicken wings (frozen) at $9 a box, buy 2 get 100 AM. That makes it pretty easy to get to 500 and just spend the require $100. :D

*sigh* that's so awesome. I'm jealous.

SoF has vouchers for Attractions Vancouver to help us defray costs of going to the Science Centre this summer so I want to keep adding to the points for that too. At least I have until August to do so.

AM has Vancouver Aquarium vouchers (and others for across Canada!) that I'm going to save up for - I have enough but I want to get a couple more vouchers - specifically $100 to Alaska Vacations to lower our price paid if the dollar keeps rising.

I ended up getting 713 Airmiles today at Safeway (In Alberta) and spent $172 so a great day. Looking at getting some more at Sobey's tonight as they have the Blue Friday deal on a couple different items that we need.

I really envy the AM deals that westerners get on groceries. Here, in Ontario, we are lucky to get spend $100 to earn 100 AM. That doesn't come along all that often either. It really makes no sense as to why we don't have comparable promos.

We're going up to SunPeaks this summer and hanging out in Vancouver on the way back for a couple days. Guess I'm going to add Safeway to my Ikea visit before we come home.

Wow, 713 is great! I spent $118 and got 566 AM... :) I was pretty pleased. One of the employees told me today that a lady came in earlier and got 1000 air miles. Crazy. The best deal was two blocks of cheese for $20 get 100 AM and two fresh chicken wing packs for $18 get 100 AM. Right there you've spend less than 40 bucks for 200 AM.

As soon as these go through I'll be able to get my last 3 day Disney pass! Wahoo!!

Ohh no just saw this! I'm stuck at home (can't drive yet from amk.e surgery) and DH is working!

Oh, too bad. :( I'm sure there will be another good one come around soon. They seem to have a really good deal about every 2 months or so I think?

I ended up missing it too, just couldn't get there yesterday. As someone else mentioned, they seem to have these sorts of sales every couple of months. Plus don't forget the first Tuesday of every month you get 20x your base airmiles so that will be coming around again soon :)

Thanks for the heads up! I'm a Superstore/costco shopper so don't normally check out the Safeway flyers, but I'm going to now!
