9:00 pm The Great British Holiday
4/4. Florida: Patrick Forbes ends his voyage into the British national obsession with time off work by asking whether it's the end of the line for the package holiday.

Might be worth a look :)

Looking forward to this, the rest of the series has been quite good, so far they have done Turkey, Cornwall and Blackpool.

Thanx for the info Kaylee ~ It's in the Sky+ now:thumbsup2

Thanks for the reminder:thumbsup2 must remember to set the sky+ when ds has finished watching cars ( again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Thanks Kaylee, but don't you think its odd they question 'the package holiday' on a Florida basis? certainly Florida is more of a pick n mix destination and has always been so but package holidays are still thriving to the extent of new destinations taking off each year (we are currently doing wonders for Cape Verde and the Azores) so it seems really weird to only discuss it in the context of one destination.

I found the programmes on Turkey and Cornwall interesting but the one on Blackpool didn't make it look at all appealing!

The Cornwall one was fascinating I couldn't believe the police put up with all those kids behaving like louts on the beach and didn't do anything :confused3 I am looking forward to the Florida one :thumbsup2

Thanks for posting this, I've been checking every week for the Florida one and thought I'd missed it. I now have a post it note reminding me by the telly.

I missed that one but I can honestly say that 'louts on the beach' are never mentioned in any local news stories unless there has been a Run To The Sun riot - I can only imagine it was completely out of context and edited really badly:confused3

Wow - it's making it all look so naff and seedy. I'm so glad this doesn't represent my experience of Orlando. If you were trying to convert anyone who wasn't sure, you wouldn't want them to see this!
