So I called this morning to book my 10 year old daughter into BBB at MK. I wanted the earliest they had. It ended up being 6:10pm. I booked it, not even thinking about the fact that we're going to DHS about 5pm to see Osborne Lights before coming back for MSEP & Wishes. So, first of all, that won't work, but it's booked because I was flustered and was taking my daughter to school at the same time this morning LOL.

Anyway.... She suggested to me that I book for the evening before at DTD because the hair stays really well. We're doing the crown package (hair & nails only). I don't know what's all involved. We arrive the day before our MK day and are not doing anything park related so it's definitely do-able to visit DTD that evening. I just worry that it would be a waste to do it if it's just going to have to be washed out the next morning or will her sleeping on it be ok?

Just looking for experiences anyone has had with that. :) :thanks:

Many report having the hair stay in for more than one day. My DD always got irritated by it and didn't want to sleep in it.

It's early. Keep calling for a different time.

I agree with PP, my daughter couldn't wait to get her hair undone but she loved the whole experience despite.

My daughter's hair was disgusting by the end of the day. We washed it out at 1:30am (after MNSSHP). The style itself looked great, but the gel was flaky and gross. No way was I letting her walk around like that. Ick. There is plenty of time to get a better spot. Just keep checking.

DD took hers out after a few hours. It was way too tight and all the product they put in the hair started to flake and looked terrible.

Totally agree. My DD loved it and she wanted to do it 6 years in a row..... but each time she wanted it out that night.

Thanks. She told me that the best chances I'd have to get an earlier time would be calling for the 3-4 days before her appointment in case people have cancelled. She said normally she doesn't see openings other than that. I will keep trying for an earlier time :)

Should I keep this 6:30 booked and modify if something comes open or just cancel and make a new one if one comes open?
(sorry for all the questions - this is the first time for us with this and DD is so excited!)

I do have to add that although the gel flakes, its SO easy to brush out rather than a gel that you buy at the drugstore. And yes, do keep trying. Last year we got a BBB a week prior to our trip. People do cancel. =)

People move dates for things around all the time. Don't wait until the last minute, even if the odds are better then.

I would completely pass on the 6:30 time because that really doesn't leave much time to enjoy the look before the end of the day anyway.

But you should only let it go if you are ok if nothing else comes up.

That's what I was thinking too. But my obsession would have me calling in constantly. LOL Someone needs to limit me to a few times a week! ;)

I wish they would put these online. I do much better with finding last minute ADRs because it's online and it's easy to check several times a day.

My DD was like the others here- there was no way she was sleeping in the BBB hairstyle. She wanted it out and her hair washed before bed. Is there a different day you can do Osborne lights? The Osborne lights don't turn on until 6:00 or 6:30 (depending on how late in the season it is and how soon it gets dark). They are very crowded when they first come on. It is much nicer to see them a little later in the evening after the initial crowd thins out. Plus, you wouldn't have to worry about making it back to MK in time for the evening entertainment. It can take quite a while to get from DHS to MK in the evenings.

Unfortunately, no :( We are doing 2 days of parks. Epcot is our next day. My parents are going with us as well and have one day left on a non-expiring PH pass, which they're using for the MK day. The other ticket they're buying is an Epcot ticket (simply because it's cheaper LOL). I'm keeping the 6:10 right now until we're SURE of our plans. I know hours can change, as can EMH as well. I'll just keep my fingers crossed for an earlier time :) I can't see my daughter wanting to keep it in her hair either - she will definitely want to shower before bed - or at least right away in the morning!

My daughter chose the diva style last time and there is no way she could sleep in it. She was able to sleep in the bun and we got two days out of that.

I agree with this 100% percent. They have everything online except and I think it'll make life easier on both the CM and guests.

Two of three times we had afternoon appointments and it lasted 2 days. Those were the times we got the fairy tale bun. She looked at me like I had two heads when I just wanted to take the crown out at night. A few hairs started to fall at the very back; but other than that it stayed.

Day 1

Day 2

The time she got the Diva style it did not make it past day 1; but she also had an early appointment. I think I’d at least keep trying for something earlier. We’ve done 4pm and 5pm. I wouldn’t want to go as late as 6.

I just want to say I love when you add your photos to these threads. She sure rocks that princess look! :cool1:

Our then 4yr old went to BBB i Downtown Disney in the early afternoon, where she loved walking around all dressed up. The following day we had lunch at the castle. She slept with the hair all done up no problem. We will try the same this year, and if the hair does not stay in place, or she does not want to sleep in it, we will just try to make the hair look as good and princesslike as we can ourselves.

LOL, thanks. She’s 10 there. She told me she wanted to do BBB until she aged out and is trying to talk me into a 2015 trip because it would be her last shot at it. We moved this year; so I am not sure we'll make it.

But she also wanted to do Pirate’s League after watching her brother do it. Funny I read through one of your trips reports the other day and it was encouraging seeing another older girl dressed up at Disney. All of your photos were wonderful.

Thanks! :) My DD went right up through age 12. I really love that she is self assured enough to do things she enjoys even if others think she's "too old". I hope you can find a way to sneak in one more visit.
