My daughter REALLY wants to get her hair done in NOv. Yes, 8 months away and my 3 yr old is talking about it already. She saw pictures, and HAS to have this done. And I agree, she has to. lol :)
I was wondering though, the costumes they offer, how much do they cost? And are the extra hair pieces or clips extra money? I could try to catch one on ebay or something for cheaper possibly?
I think I saw the basic to be about $50? Which is insane, but again, so am I if Im going to spend that much on my 3 yr olds hair. But totally worth the look on her face when she gets to show her Daddy. :):):)

We did the basic package, which includes all the accessories and then brought our own dresses for dds to wear instead of buying them there. My dds love it.

We did the middle package. You get hair, nails, and makeup. It included a princess tiara and a mickey head hair pin. We bought her dress from walmart. ONe was on sale for $5 for the first time we went (sleeping beauty), and the second was $20. Alot cheaper than the $65 or more you'd shell out for the dresses at Disney.

Since you aren't going for a while, watch for costume sales. We have done BBB twice with our DDs and both times got the costumes on the after Halloween sales at Disney Store and Disneyshopping. Yes, it's $50, but let me tell you, you will be soooo happy you did it. We did it in 2006 with our 3 girls as a one time thing. I loved it as much as they did! The photos I have are so special to me. In 2008 I was thinging I wanted to do it again but wasn't sure I could justify the cost again and my grandma said she woudl pay for it because she didn't want them to not do it and she sisn't wnat me to look back with regret that I didn't do it when I had the chance (before they outgrew it like their oldest sister did). I am soooo glad she said that because we did it again and I am so glad I did. I plan to have them do it one more time in 2010. you only live once and they are only little once!!! Go, have fun with your DD and you will have the memories and photos long after the money is spent.

Oh, sniff, sniff....it does go by so fast! You are helping me feel less bad for shelling out $$ on a dress here rather than ending up spending $$$$ on a dress once we are there!

My 4 year old is going to BBB in May. Yeah!! So I have been looking for a special dress and considering waiting to buy one until we get to Disney. I finally decided to buy the Cinderella deluxe off of disneyshopping and was so glad I did. The dress is beautiful!!! It was $50, with 15% off, but it was originally $80. I was also going to keep it as a surpirse for when we get there, but......i was then afraid what if it didnt fit right. So we let her try it on and she was so excited!!! She wore it for a little while and curtsied and is more excited about Disney!! We put the dress up and she is okay with saving it for the Castle. Hopefully the dress will end up being a good Halloween outfit. Good Luck, and I dont think it will matter if the dress is expensive or not, little girls just like to feel pretty and I know my daughter would have been fine with a less extravagant dress, but it was more for me than her:goodvibes

I agree with pp's bring a dress from home. When DD was 3.5 we borrowed a Cinderella dress from a friend and did the hair, make-up, and nails. She looked gorgeous (:lmao: her shoes-red mickey crocs :lmao: ). She took the dress off about 10 min. after leaving BBB. I think she was allergic to the make-up as the next morning her eyes were swollen almost shut and we had to shell out over $300 for a doctor to come to the room. But of course she wants to do it again when we go. ;)

We went to BBB in Oct 2006, and we brought my daughters dresses from home, one outfit was from Costco and the other from the disney store. The basic package was wonderful, well worth the money!! We are going back in Sept/Oct 2009 and can't wait to book our next visit to BBB. Hope this helps!

This Picture was at BBB, my oldest daughter got extentions with her basic package, giving her long princess hair! She loved it.

We are going the end of Sept and can't wait to do this for my DD's! They will be 3 and almost 5 then. I have thought about buying the dresses here, but am still debating. DH has already said they can do the big package. I know it'll be awesome but it is still a lot of money.

We are going in May (AHHHHHH) and my DD, 4, will be going to BBB. I have talked to her about it and she seems very interested, I showed her the info on WDW website. I bought her a dress, or should I say my MIL did after halloween last Oct. So, we got a $50 cinderella dress for $15. DEF watch the sales expecially if you arent going until later on.

I know right now my disney store still has alot of costumes out .. some are newer and have matching jellys or flipflops BUT they do have some of the deluxe dresses that were $80 for like $45 or something. Deals are out there!!

Oh my guys, you all have me SO excited I could cry!! :):) My daughter is going to LOVE it. She talks about it all the time already. I feel bad I have mentioned it to her so soon, but she is patient and loves to talk about DIsney world. She can't wait to go again and I cant wait to bring her. (DS too of course, but he is like his Dad, easy come easy go... they get excited the day of, not 8 months ahead lol)
As for the DIsney Store, we dont have one in town any more. THey pulled out a year ago ...was NOT happy about that! There is one 3 hours away...we might be going down that way in the summer, we will have to wait and see I guess. I will keep an eye on thrift stores.
I just got an idea though, I would buy from the disney website, but shipping to Canada is crazy expensive! BUT I have a great friend in MIssissippi who I actually met on here, then met down in DW and I could probably send it to her. She is trying hard to make it this Dec when we are there. SHe could even mail it to me much cheaper I would think than DIsney website.
ANyhoo, I will keep an eye out everywhere for a dress, I have some time. :):):)

OH, eye makeup.... Im very cautious about this...Only my opinion, I just dont like heavy colours on my 3 yr olds eyes kwim? DO they have a shimmer white or something? I have put eyeshadow on before, and it hasn't affected her eyes at all, so Im hoping she doesnt have a reaction! oh my!!!

YYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYY I WANT TO GO BACK TODAY!!!!!!!!!!
