BBB and pirates league

so I have a 12 year old son and a 4 yr old daughter. Next time we go they’ll be about 15 and 7. Last trip we did the boutique at Disney springs for both of them, my son actually really liked the expirience and his reveal pics were really nice (his face said whoa!) that being said he’s not super into becoming a knight again (and he’d be to old anyway). My daughter has already exclaimed she wants to do the boutique in Cinderella’s castle. I was thinking I’d try to grab an appointment at 8am and we’d have lunch at be our guest but I’m not sure when we would schedule pirates league for my son. When do you guys think is a good time for that? Do they offer 8am appointments?

It looks like they open at 9am, but it never hurts to call and ask. However, I wouldn’t worry about planning 3 years out as interests change and your now 12yo future 15yo may be totally uninterested in becoming a pirate.

I don't think anyone on here will be able to tell you what the schedules will be in 2022. I would gauge his interest about 7 months prior to your trip and then make a plan so you are ready to go when reservations open for your travel dates.

Yeah I am jumping the gun. Right now he likes to expirience things but when he’s a little older he may not.

When we did it, it took about an hour. It's a bit of a process from getting your pirate name, then waiting for a chair to open for the actual makeover.

If he is interested in doing something a little more low-key, you could also consider just a haircut at Harmony Barbershop or face painting. He could also do Sorcerer's of the Magic Kingdom or the pirates adventure while he's waiting for his sister at BBB (if they are still available when you go!)

Not in MK, but they are building an "NBA Experience" in DS and the Void is there as well which has VR experiences (currently Star Wars and Wreck it Ralph. Marvel will be there soon). My DS11 wouldn't step foot in Pirate's League or BBB at this point, but he's really looking forward to the NBA Experience and the Marvel VR experience!

Thanks. We did the barber shop for my daughters first haircut and we loved the expirience but my son doesn’t like getting his hair cut so I’m not sure he’d like it. He’s also not into sports but he does love video games. He likes expirience type things and I’d feel pretty bad doing an expirience for my daughter and not him. He’s at a weird age which he’s outgrowing a lot of stuff but still likes doing a lot of “kid” stuff. But his tastes may change as time goes on. If the arcade was still in Disney springs that would have been something he would have loved.

If he likes video games and experiences definitely consider one of the VR experiences at the Void in Disney Springs. Right now it’s just Star Wars and Wreck It Ralph, but there are more planned for the future!
