Sorry for the delay yesterday, the computer lost all the pics at the wrong moment. I wanted to mention that the add-on was at a cost of $112 a point with $12 discount on the day.

We actually signed for the points when we got home to the UK.

The pics of the fence around the garden rooms is interesting. I also have many "unnamed" CM's comments I've posted over the years; some true, some not.

That said, it just doesn't make any sense to me. I mean BLT is my first love, anyone who has read any of my posts over the last 4 years knows that. But, the location is so much farther from MK that the view seems like it wouldn't command as much attention and adoration as the current BLT.

That said, there is plenty of room to add a DVC to the Poly or GF, which would make more sense IMHO. I mean, yes BLT rocks, but if you really wanted to entice more buyers wouldn't you do something new and exciting instead of adding an additional tower @ CR with less to offer than BLT?
Again, these are just my opinions and observations. Any thoughts?

agree with GF - but the Polyn is just about land locked - with the TTC on one side and the wedding pavillion on the othr side.

now would love Tahiti to go down and new DVC unit there - it has the room - but the Polyn is still earning back the money from its rehab. Can't see DIsney letting any of the Poyn rooms go for the next 10 years.

was hoping a few years ago when the Polyn needed all that help that part would be DVC - but no luck. Disney rehab the place.

also can't see the wings at the CR at least until everything is sold out - AKV, SSR, BLT and the OKW they brought back.

remember it just went thru rehab a couple of years ago - so it is still in good shape.

The question was asked of a cast member: What are they doing at the garden rooms on the CR site? Answer: They are placing pilings along the bay lake to shore up the banking to give a stable foundation if required for another tower at CR resort. (I can confirm they have a pile driver which was doing this when we visited the VWL during our vacation)

Why do they need another tower?
Answer: BLT is selling faster than expected and faster than the Beach Club.

well it is not - by the first estimated it should be sold out now - and it is not half way there.

besides the only CM that know what is going on - are the ones holding the blue prints.

really though got told long, long ago that area is not stable enough for a tower - but they can do what they did with BLT - move it.

of course they have a lot less room here - because it can't interfer with the CR rooms -

part of the demand for the blt is the MK view - despite only being 20% - it is the though you might get luck - the south wing is further away and no MK views. can't see dvc offeriing this for less

I can tell you that Disney doesn't give privvy information to CM's; they are in the dark as much as anyone else. Most information given by CM's are rumors as well, although generally more believable than most.

I cannot imagine them building another tower @ CR, it wouldn't make sense. The reason they built BLT the way they did was to conserve the iconic value of CR. By building another tower, CR would "disappear" in the city type skyline of the area. Despite the distance from MK and the lack of MK views which is a huge draw for BLT. Just my thoughts.

We also went to the BLT DVC event on July 9. It was great and we also bought an add-on while we were there. They told everyone during the even that BLT was 70% sold out. We thought that was pretty amazing. We are very excited about our add-on there. Our plan is booking there for November of 2010.

As I was looking at your pictures I almost died as I saw my Husband(green shirt, jean shorts & sneakers) in one of them. Now I see where you are from and we remember talking to you guys that day.. It is a small world. Hahaha We too had a great time at the party and also bought 170 Pts that day into BLT..Thanks for the laugh now I know we can end up in anyones pictures.

I do not think I would want to see an identical tower, but another, shorter, or taller/slender (with more MK view?) tower might be OK in the sort of Walt's initial EPCOT planned community of the future way...

.. and if the next tower is also round, I expect to see landscaping completing an arial "hidden mickey"

yes but the declared inventory and their 70% are not agreeing.

they have sold a bunch in the last few months - but don't know it yet to 70%

they must declare the inventory to DVC from DVD to sell it

Based on the amount of time planning / budgeting / engineering / "architecting" / imagineering would require for a 2nd tower, there is no way DVC is building a 2nd tower "based on sales demand"
Even if management could make a rushed, fly by the seat of the pants 9-figure decision (build an exact or mirrored BLT copy with everything all figured) they would be basing everything on sales through December, at the latest, while the country is plunging into more of a recession and DVC still has to sell GCV, Kidani, THC, Hawaii and the remaining 75% of BLT?

I can only think that IF DVC is building a 2nd tower, they always (starting at least 5 years ago) planned to build a 2nd tower and have decided sales have been OK enough to continue with those 2nd tower plans. (which still seems strange given that most companies are in a "let's wait a little longer before we spend more money, even though we know we need to spend more" unless they are getting a heck of a deal on construction right now)
