It seems like the rules for TotWL keep changing. I'll be staying at BLT on points in august. Can I bring up some friends who are staying at POR one evening? Thank you! (Side question- at one point i read that they were changing the rules to allow members staying on points at any dvc resort to visit. Is this still true?)

Even if you are staying on a friends points? I have never been asked for any verification other than a KTTW card before though I guess those have gone away... Hmm

I just called bay lake tower and spoke with a CM. She said that my magic band will be set up at check in to BLT to be allowed access into the TotWL. And just to let the front desk know I am bringing up friends and that should be fine. So I guess I am no longer needing info lol!

DVC Members staying at any Disney owned & operated resort on either cash or points can access the TOTWL. They may want to scan your MagicBand to verify the resort stay and ask for your DVC Member ID to verify membership.

Been up there several times over the past two+ years with friends in tow. Some staying with us in a two bedroom, some staying on property alone, some local to Orlando. All we have done is show a DVC membership card when asked and was taken to the elevator with no questions asked.
