So- I am not a DVC owner- but am looking to rent a one bedroom in Bay Lake Tower starting that 2nd week of November. What are my chances that anything would be available if I use one of the popular businesses which match up DVC owners and renters? Not to mention the business name...

Sorry to burst your bubble, but you are too late. Mid-November bookings at Bay Lake Tower have been open to all DVC members for a few weeks now, so no doubt it is fully booked. Rooms may come available through a waitlist, but I don't believe the brokers have their owner clients request wait lists for potential renters.

You should approach the brokers 8-11 months before your planned stay to get what you want...

I agree you are just a touch late to get BLT for that second week of November since F&W is still going for its last week. The fact you want a 1BR is a big plus since those tend to book up last and I would think you could still get a room at SSR and possibly OKW or AKV which are the 3 largest DVC resorts.

It can't hurt to ask and see what's available. We have a 1 bedroom at blt booked for Nov 11th through a dvc rental site. Now, we did book at 8am on the 7 month mark. But you might as well ask.

Okay- good info! So--- are all DVC resorts probably booked for that week?

Some resorts will have more availability - such as Saratoga Springs...it might have availability for you to book a week-long stay. (Btw I checked BLT availability after I posted, there is basically no availability - only one night here and there per 1br view category.)

Wilderness Lodge sometimes has availability too. And you never know, sometimes people have a reservation and then plans change. I like the Time Share Store...they also do rentals. Contact them by e-mail, you never know if they may have something. I trust them completely. the other one (Dave's?) is very trustworthy too. Good luck.

Oh...and if the weekend dates are not available, you can always stay off-property for a couple of nights and then move (as long as you have a rental car). Or even stay at a value resort (if they have availability) for a couple of nights. When we were short on points (before we started adding on with resale) we would spend our first night or two at Pop Century. If you don't have a car, this way you can have Disney move your luggage to your next resort.
