We're considering the Bay Lake Tower for our next trip. Our two teenagers really like the idea of three bathrooms in the 2-bedroom units which means they will each will have "their own" and won't have to share, but they and my wife are not 100% comfortable with the lack of locks on the bathroom doors. Has anyone had an issue or thought of a remedy?

We had a 4, 6 and 11 year old with us (all boys)- no issue-we just said if the door is shut, it's occupied, if it's open, come on in! If you "assign" each teen to their own bathroom, and tell them the master is off limits, this would probably alleviate the problem.

You mentioned a 2BR unit. I believe there are locks on the bedroom doors so someone could lock the bedroom door when they are in the non-living room area bathrooms.

The living room area bathroom does not have a lock (or at least it didn't in December).

Also, I seem to recall the lock issue was brought up at the annual meeting and Disney was going to look into it.

We just returned and had no issues with the non-locking bathroom doors. In our family we have no problem. If a bathroom door is closed, we respect each other's privacy. In my master bathroom at home, we don't even have a door, just an arch going into the bathroom area. My 5 yo and 2 yo granddaughters never had a problem with the doors. If they close them, that means they want their privacy, and no one bothers them. I guess it depends on your family. The only thing I had to watch is if you slide them a little too hard they would bounce back open slowly, so make sure you slide it close and it stays put. I can't imagine anyone openning a closed bathroom door. If it's open -- it's vacant. If it's closed -- it's occupied.

Ditto! And we also take the unusual step of announcing - "I am going into the bathroom - DO NOT COME IN". ;)
