We want To go to california adventure and disneyland on sunday may 7th and monday may 8th, we want to visit one park each day and i just noticed the bats day in the fun park is in the 7th, do the parks get really crowded? Should i go sunday to DCA and monday to the disneyland park or the other way around?

Bats day hasn't increased the crowds much that I've noticed. (except one year it was on Dapper Day weekend, so you couldn't tell.) And some of the outfits are incredible, I would not want to miss if I had the opportunity to be there.

Our first day is the 7th as well. I have searched the DIS, and come up virtually empty handed on any crowd flux from Bats Day. If anything, I agree with the above poster, it will be something fun to see! I am not worried about it. I went in October during the UEA that everyone says to avoid, and I didn't notice a difference in crowds then either.

If people hanging out in large groups is going to bother you, I'd skip DL on Sunday.

My old lady self would call the attire goth / steam punk. Their website says that "Bats Day in the Fun Park, which started in August 1999 between the promoters of the goth/industrial & deathrock clubs...." seems to back up my terminology, but I'm sure that someone more in the know could give a better description. It's not just goth, although some people are. The extreme, cool outfits are more like goth 150 years ago. You can look at photos on their website: http://www.batsday.net/home/home.html

We were there last year during this event. It also happened to be Dapper Days. It was quite funny to see the contrasts in outfits. :) Because of both happening, it was super busy.
