We are booked on the Dream for Feb/2026 for 4 nights in cabin 8568. From what Ive seen on the internet it has a deep tub. Im over 70 and really need a low tub or walk in shower. Can anyone confirm the tub in our current cabin is indeed deep? Are there any cabins in our current category that have a shallow tub or walk in? I hate taking a handicap room because Im only an occassional walker user. Thank you for any help.

Unfortunately if it is a regular tub room they are all the same and it is a big step in and out. The only way around it is to grab a handicap room. I feel you on not wanting to take a room just for that, but you shouldn't feel bad at all as you do need it! Many times GTY folk are given the handicap rooms; there is every possibility no one else would need it on your sailing anyway!

The tubs aren't really that deep. I'd say it's about a foot high.

That is a pretty big step over height if you have mobility issues. Our soaker tub is 15 1/2 inches deep and they had to put grab handles in to meet code. Not sure if you are old enough to be on Medicare or oversee a loved one on Medicare, but every year as part of your annual physical you have to fill out a questionnaire about home safety and it is full of questions involving tripping hazards in your home. Thinks like having to step into a bathtub to shower, how many area rugs in your home, how many steps into your house. How many stairs in your house. Falling is never fun, and all too often can be fatal if you are over 65.

I began requesting a HA room at first because of the difficulty I had getting into and out of the bath tub. Also, the HA rooms don’t have the step down to get out of the bathroom itself. They are a safer room for me for sure.

Not a great picture to answer your question, but the Deluxe Oceanview rooms with Verandah have an odd set up. The shower is round, with about a 2 foot edge on it. Around the corner from the entry, there's a shelf you can sit on, but the "tub" such as it is is only the round area in the shower. Not very deep.
