I realize that this has been asked before as I did a search, however, the last discussion was from 2007 so I will ask again.
Has anyone recently used bathfitters and are you happy with the results?
I need to do something with my upstairs shower stall and my downstairs bath tub area. I am going to a local fair where they always have a booth set up. I am thinking about having them come out for an estimate. Maybe they will give me a discount if I get both bathrooms done.:rotfl2: thanks for the help

Sorry, we got a quote but didn't use them because they were so high. They wanted $3500 to do our tub and wall. Our tub was in good shape but the tile surrounding it was bad. In the end we spent much less money and had the tile replaced.

They do call us CONSTANTLY now to solicit....

We had them give us an estimate for our tub and seperate shower. They wanted $10,000, for plastic. We then had a contractor with good references give us an estimate. He quoted $7000 for real tile and he is going to replace the toilet and tile floor. The Bath Fitters guy was very high pressure. He kept saying we had to sign that day or the price would go up.

I would never do Bath Fitters. I just couldn't have somebody come in and cover up mold in the bathroom with something else. Eventually, there's got to be a problem there.

The previous owners of our house had a bath fitters work done and we can't wait to rip it out. I think they basically put a whole plastic bathtub and surround on top of the existing tub so every time you step out you are very very high up. It is not normal! Basically I can almost look over the shower curtain-we are that high up!

We just got a quote for 2 bathrooms. They did offer a discount for 2 bathrooms, but it was still pretty high. Unbeknownst to them we had already had 3 contractors in to quote us for re-doing the whole bathroom.

The cost for the complete remodel (complete gutting, everything new, tile, floor, etc.)was only about $400 more than the bathfitters price of just the shower/tub liner. And that was AFTER the "discount".

The only benefit if the quick turnaround. the complete remodel is taking just over a week for each bathroom while the bathfitters would have been much shorter. I wouldn't bank on the one day installation...I've known a couple of people who had it last more than a day.

I must be the only one then that love my bathfitters bath and shower.

So easy to clean. Yes we could have retiled for less but I didn't want the same hard to clean grout. My favourite part is the ceiling panel, no more peeling paint up there. Ours looks like tiles and is not just plain. I think it cost just over $3000. but that included the tub and a new tap set.

Our tub was okay to but we got one put over top of the old one , which we were glad we did because it would have looked dirty with the brighter white of the walls. Not sure why one poster said it was so high because it is only a shell it wouldn't make it that high unless the orginal tub was high.

They did ours in one day, never had anyone call or bug us when we were deciding either, must be just the store in our area. :confused3

I want to do my second bathroom the same way.

And bathfitters is the only one the bend there plastic so you have no seams in the corners. We checked out cheaper ones but they seems to look nice some how.

We got an estimate from bath fitters, and then laughed at them. We ended up getting our bath tub "reglazed" which I HIGHLY recommend! We are in Eastern Mass but I can share my contracters name if you want and pictures, not sure how far they would go for a job, but they did a lovely job! We just did the tub, it was like 400ish, but they also reglaze tile. It looks like brand new porcelain! Send me a pm if you want the pics or contractors name, we found him on BBB & Angies List and I was super nervous, but it turned out wonderful!!

I'll second the reglazing. We had it done too and loved it. :thumbsup2

The only thing to keep in mind for reglazing is that it will have to be re-done about every 5 years. Still, it's a great short term, inexpensive solution.

Actually ours lasted about 10 years and even then it didn't look that bad.

Thank you everyone for your responses. I now have a couple of other options that I really had not thought about. Thanks again.
