Basking in the Glow of the (not so) Creepy Clown -2/11-Pictures, Final Thoughts, PTR!

Phew!!!! :faint: I am here!!!! :yay: AT least I wasn't toooooooooo far behind!!!
George? Okay...George it is then!! :thumbsup2
Loved the random "Let's dance" at ME!! :cool1: How cute is that?!!
Bus waiting, room ready....GREAT view!!! :woohoo: Such a pretty room...I even like the little kitchen area :cutie:
That is one happy Henry

Tracy

Signing on. Your little Henry is the cutest thing ever. I think my favorite picture is him looking at himself while jumping on the bed. Looking forward to more.

Could things get any better so far?! The rooms look great and Henry looks very excited to be visiting he pals again.
Ahh, yes I remember "cousin IT" I was very glad when he moved away.:lmao:

Love the pics!! Can't wait to be there! I want to hear all about BWV!! And that crazy clown!

What a great view.
You sure made travelling with a 3 year in NYC look easy. :worship:

Yup - something got me about Thursday and at least it waited until I got back to get bad. Just allergies. They were spreading mulch at FQ so maybe that was it. Who knows, with my allergies it could be anything:laughing:

found you this morning but didn't have enough time to read before work

sounds like a fabulous start to your trip! Up early, easy flight, right on ME and room ready :thumbsup2 I'm with C though...not sure I could stop for food at the airport on arrival...too excited to get there

wow...9 pages...i am really behind! We used the little spot between the kitchenette and the doorway for Caleb's crib! It worked awesome and was like his own little room! But we were at the Beach Club but I am sure it is set up the same!

/
Dang Brook, will I ever get caught up? We'll be hanging out with the clown in 6 weeks!

Love the video of Henry jumping on the bed, so cute! We fell in love with the Boardwalk when we stayed there last spring break. It's such a pretty resort! Even with that clown!
Glad the trip down went smoothly, can't wait to read more!

What a great start to the trip! You got every good trip vibe there is. Well, of course, except for IT. I was afraid IT was going to be a flashback to your trip from two years ago. So glad for all around that it was not!

We were at Chick-Fil-A tonight. I totally thought of you while eating. We're there most Tuesdays. Kids eat free and they provide crafts for them to do too. We are pretty much junkies!

So glad you had a great travel day! I always stress out the most about that day...just something about all the things that might possibly go wrong that stresses me out! I try so hard not to let it (I did a little better this past trip...lol)

That's great that Joe was able to change his flight without any additional fees!

I know what you mean about Chick-Fil-A...isn't it great? We have one about 30 minutes from our house! Actually, we have one that's 25 minutes South of us and one that's 30 minutes West of us! I don't eat there near as often as I'd like! lol I always get the original chicken sandwich like you got & just add a little ketchup to the top (I'm weird about it...the ketchup has to be on the opposite side of the chicken as the pickle!) And I love those waffle fries!!! Yum!!!

Loved the pictures of the Boardwalk!!! I remember driving by it on the boat on the way to the BC/YC and thinking how pretty it must be inside! And it truly is!!! :lovestruc

The picture of Henry on the bed is absolutely adorable!!! Its great to see that he was enjoying himself as soon as you arrived...Luke does the same thing (jumping on the bed first & then exploring the room!)

I loved the views from your room! Absolutely gorgeous!!!

Can't wait to hear more!!!

Brooke i finally found your trip report!:yay:
Great start so far. It will keep me going until i go to WDW myself in 16 sleeps.:woohoo:
Henry is soooo cutie pie. Of course i may be partial, being a redhead myself!;)

Looking forward to more.

KIM

What a sec...16 sleeps? Didn't you just get back??? I'm jealous!!!!! (or am I confusing you with another DISer in my "I attempted to potty train my 3 year old today" exhaustion?)

First let me say that you make traveling alone with a 3 year old sound easy. You are one brave woman.

The room looks wonderful. Love the mickey heads on the dresser. It's the small touches, that Disney does so well.

My DS loves hotel/resort rooms. He loves the drawers though for some reason. So I understand Henry not wanting to leave. I still remember when my DS was 2 and a half and we were at Disney we had gone to AK for our first full day and had gotten back to the room around 5, ate and then asked my DS if he wanted to go to MK, he said no. We asked do you want to do anything or just stay in the room and be bored. And he said "stay in room, be bored". So we did. Little boys are just funny sometimes. Good thing they are just so dag gum cute.

I was nervous about the traveling. I tried to make it as easy as possible with as few things as possible. It was WAY smoother than I ever imagined! A million things could have gone wrong, but nothing did.

That is so cute about your DS! Henry loved our room too and wanted to stay in it a few times, in the evening, so we did! He also got very into the pool.

I am enjoying this report and love the pix. I would love to stay there but not with the creepy clown no waaaay.:scared1:

 They have 2 other clown-free pools! He can be avoided. :goodvibes

So excited that you have started your TR! I am glad you had a good arrival day. The room looks great. I can't wait to read more. :yay:

I was hoping to get more up today, but it just didn't happen...maybe tomorrow. :thumbsup2

What an awesome travel day! You definitely had some Disney mojo going on right from the start! So glad Joe was able to switch his flight and avoid Earl, you were able to try and fall in love with Chick-Fil-A, and you have a beautiful room at the Boardwalk. Seriously beautiful! Now I want to stay there even more! :lovestruc Henry jumping on the bed is just adorable! Isn't it cute what kids decide they like to do? Oh, and how sweet of the CMs to tell Henry Happy Birthday! Wish we had the two of you dancing onto ME on video! The only two snags to your day so far have been the seat mix-up and having to change a diaper, and those are so minimal, I don't think they count! :thumbsup2 Can't wait to see what the two of you decided to do around the resort!

It really as a VERY smooth travel day. So many things could have gone wrong, I could have been exhausted and pulling my hair out, but that Disney magic kicked into high gear instantly!

Seriously chick fil a is the best. Though Im complicated I usually add cheese to the original and switch out for the wheat bun it is soo good. I didnt know chicken could be so heavenly seasoned!

Great start the boardwalk seems real nice!!!
Seriously though Henry is so stinkin' cute makes me want kids of my own ! lol

Love that view! :)

The Mickey touch on the furniture is cool.
Understated, but still representin'. :thumbsup2

The view was simply amazing. If we ever stay there again, I'm asking to be RIGHT there. It was so easy to get to everything + had a view. :thumbsup2

I loved that little Mickey touch too! One I didn't get that was in the room was the carpet. It looks like nice hotel carpet, but it had hidden Mickey's in it!

Love the update. Love the view from your room - absolutely gorgeous! So glad you guys got Joe's ticket changed and without a fee!

I was hoping we could do it without a fee due to the hurricane, but Joe saw something on their website that made us think there might be some random fee....but nope! How could he NOT fly out early? Work was cool with it, we juggled around his vacation time, and no fee!

Woo hoo for everything going so smoothly! Perfect for you traveling alone with Henry! I had wondered how you were getting to the airport but forgot to ask! I'm glad someone gave up their seat for you!

Your lunch sounds yummy! We'll have to try it one of these days!

Oh no, IT! :lmao: Poor you! Good thing he decided to do IT before the bus left not after!

I love, love, love the pictures of BW! It looks so pretty! I can't wait until March! Henry looks like he's having such a good time jumping on the bed!

I had thought about booking car service, but figured since we were traveling so light that I'd just do the bus - it's such a quick ride. When the bus first pulled up I was kicking myself though!

I was VERY glad IT arrived before the bus left. I would have felt sooooo badly for those around me if not!

The BW is wonderful! I truly fell in love with the resort. I hope I was able to capture the overall feel of it with my pictures.

Great beginning to your trip. Your room was beautiful. I will have to add Boardwalk Villas to my list of must-stays.

Yes! You won't be disappointed! From the easy walk to DHS and Epcot, to the beauty within the resort...it's awesome!

What a great morning so far! Henry seemed like he was a great traveling companion for you!! :thumbsup2

Love Chic-fil-A, we had them in Philly and they are delish, they don't have them here in MA, anymore, so we always eat them when we're out visiting Todds family. YUM!!!popcorn::

So glad that you got Joe's ticket switched over and WOOHOO for no fee!:thumbsup2

What a beautiful view at the resort, just gorgeous and the weather looked fabulous, too!!!:cloud9:

Can't wait to here more!!!!

Tonight I had McDoanlds Southern Style Sandwich...I had to pretend it was Chick-Fil-A! The bun got all weird and soggy...it just didn't measure up!

Henry looks so cute and excited/sleepy!

That sandwich from Chick-Fil-A looks soo good!

That's adorable that you and Henry danced to the bus :cutie:

Good shot of the welcome gate! :thumbsup2

Henry takes part in one of my favorite "we are at disney moments" jumping on the bed  yes at almost 20 I still get a kick out of jumping on the bed although I don't like nearly as cute as Henry when he does it

Ugh looking at your pics makes me miss Boardwalk :guilty:

Great update!

Shhhhh....I am 31 and joined him on the bed for a few jumps!

I feel ya, looking at my pics (and I'm sure when I see yours!) make me miss it too.

So this is where you have all been hiding out ;)

Yep, just finding you...going back to read now!

:welcome: Katie!

What a great start to your day!! I am dying to try Chick-Fil-A but I think it may have to be on the way home. Once I get to MCO, I'm not sure I can stand to do anything but go straight to ME as fast as my legs will carry me!

The rooms look great and I can't believe the luck you had with the view!!

Great pictures as always!!

Looking forward to hearing where you went exploring! popcorn::

:rotfl: I understand! We usually skip over anything in the airport too, but my flight landed at 1:07 and I was HUNGRY! I had no idea ME would be that quick (and probably wouldn't have been if I didn't stop!), plus Chick-Fil-A was a destination for me, not just lunch.

Oh look at that view!!

Isn't it pretty? :cloud9:

So glad you had such luck with your travels and check-in...that always makes for a great start to vacation. And I love that Henry has his own "jumping on the bed" tradition firmly in place. :rotfl:

I have to admit we tried Chick-fil-A once on a drive to WDW and we were not impressed (ducking now!) Maybe it was an off day or store, but I had so wanted to love it and it was just bad. So bad that DH actually agreed to stop somewhere else and get something else...you know it was not good if he agreed to that. :rotfl: We may have to try the one at MCO and see if we like it any better.

Wow! You must have hit a bad store or off day. I can see people just thinking "Meh, it's chicken." but so bad that your DH agreed to stop somewhere else...! :scared1: I would say give it another shot...it really is very good - the chicken is VERY juicy, done just right and not greasy!

Yay, I feel so honored to have gotten mentioned in this TR. :rotfl: I told you Chick-Fil-A is good! That is what I always say, the chicken is sooo juicy. Somebody I work with told me there is one somewhere in WI (not very close to where I live sadly) so I might have to go find it. haha

Love all the BW pictures! So glad your travels went smoothly and you made it safely.

Where in WI is it?!?! I'd be tempted to drive from MN when visiting. Thank you for the clue-in on it being right in MCO, I have so many friends from the south that have spoken of this restaurant for YEARS, it was great to finally try it!

EXACTLY!!!! LOL That was proper form! :rotfl2:

Brooke- Did I miss the part where you had luggage? Did you do Disney for a week with just a backpack of clothes? :worship:
(I'm assuming your DH took the bag(s))

Hurray for someone offering you a seat on the bus. Nice to see there are chivalric people out there. (I think I used this word right )

Glad your flight was smooth... no booger pickin' huh? ;)

Chick-fil-a is so good isn't it. Are you sure there isn't one in the city? I find that so hard to believe. Want to open a franchise with me down there.... it would make a killing! :goodvibes

Henry must of got a kick out of the CM's singing to him... how cute!

The room was awesome and the view was amazing!!!!!! You were rolling on all cylinders this morning!!!!!! pixiedust:

:rotfl2: Oh yes, DH had the HUUUUUUUUUUUGE suitcase. I did have a backpack with things for Henry and I for that day and the next -when Joe was supposed to arrive. It was stuffed full! I just wanted to be hands free with a toddler. I could have probably gotten all of Henry's stuff in there for a week, but not mine too!

I guess I'm not 100% sure there is one here...Googling....HOLY SMOKES THERE IS ONE AT NYU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GAH - "Store Hours: * This unit may have restricted access to the public. Please call for information about accessibility, directions, menu, and hours of operations. "

Seriously.

I'm gonna call. And then hire someone to make me a fake NYU ID. ;)

So glad Henry was such a great traveling companion for you since you were alone! :goodvibes It really does sound like the trip down went extremely smooth!

Yay for Chick-Fil-A!!! :yay: Did you put anything on your sandwich (mayo, sauce)? I always ask them to leave off the pickle. Did you get the lemonade? Best lemonade ever!

Wow, I can't say enough about how beautiful your room was! I so want to stay at Boardwalk now! :rotfl:

I put BBQ sauce on it - the gal didn't tell me about the Chick-Fil-A Sauce, which I had on the way BACK (yep, had it twice!). But even just the normal BBQ sauce was gooooood eatin'. I didn't get the lemonade! I completely forgot about that. I'll be back and lemonade will be had.

My trip was last November. Madelyn has kept me very busy, she'll be three months old on Saturday. If it's okay with you, I'll post a pic of her here. I seem to remember something about the family moving to NYC, and I see from your Central Park Zoo post, it happened! As soon as I get enough posts, I'll PM you. Glad to see you've been back to Disney. We're going back in October 2011 and planning on staying at AKV.

My goodness, where does time go?! And yep, we did finally make the move to NYC! We just arrived in mid-June and are loving it.

PLEASE do post some pictures of your little one - as many as you'd like! Hijack, hijack! :goodvibes

Wonderful arrival!

Beautiful room and great pictures. I love the pics of Henry jumping on the bed. No wonder he didn't want to leave the room.

 Exactly! The bed was like a ride to him! It was cute to let him do that and watch him in his excitement.

I also love Chick-fil-A...so yummy. Luckily we have one about a mile from our apartment. We dont visit it as much as we should tho . You room looks amazing! Its really nice but at the same time laid back and relaxing. I would love to have a view like that!!!

In a way I'm glad there isn't Chick-Fil-A around the corner. :rolleyes1 I just visited their website and saw they have a new Spicy sandwich...drool.

The room was awesome. From pictures I had seen online I wasn't all that impressed, but when I was there it was something else! Lush and beautiful, yet comfortable -just like you said. :thumbsup2

Tink hearts Chik-fil-A.
Much like Tink hearts MANY restaurants NOT realistically accessible to her but the TV INSISTS on advertising, like:

Cici's
Sonic
Golden Corral

::shakes fist::

But what a WONDERFUL travel day for you guys! LOTS of Disney mojo going on. ::yes::

I understand! That used to happen to us in Minnesota too. We had Sonic commercials for YEARS before they put one in finally. I would get so irritated.

Though, the commercials were funny and clever.

WOW what an amazing arrival day!! I'm so glad everything worked out for you!!!!!

WHAT A VIEW!! Oh Brook I hope I get some of your pixie dust and I get a room like that in January!! I think your picture brought tears to my eyes and to think I'm going to be there in 4 short months!!! WOOT WOOT!!!!

Love the pictures of Henry jumping on the bed!! What fun was had!!

Can't wait for more!

Have you guys put in any requests for your room? I wish I knew the Inn side and I could direct you on what to request!!!! I hope you love the BW!

Ok so our room pictures are going to look identical except ours lack the adorable 3 year old :)

Glad your arrival went so smoothly! :goodvibes

:lmao: Did you have that view too?

A little slow, but I'm here Brook!

It's okay Glenn, :welcome:

I could crack a joke about age...but I won't. :goodvibes

That's awesomeness!!! And I thought *I* was bad setting my alarm 30 mins ahead of time!!!!

Gotta love that Disney excitement that makes any sleep deprivation disappear!!! Love that! LOVE the feeling of waking up that first morninig of a vacation with it all ahead of you!

AHEM. I think you mean the McDonald's Southern Style Sandwich is like the Chick Fil A Original.

:rotfl:

Honestly I don't know what came first... but I know down here in Texas, we had Chick Fil A long time before the Southern Style hit McD's.

I've been eating Chick Fil since I was a preteen. Back when the only ones they had were in the mall. Before they were a free standing fast food joint like all the others. Least that's how it was here in Texas. They originated in Georgia, Atlanta I think. They never open on Sundays for religious reasons. The founder of Chick Fil A stayed at the Ritz Carlton a lot, after he made it in the chicken sandwich business and liked the way the employees at the Ritz treated their guests so much that he adopted their "My pleasure" response for Chick Fil A employees.

Kinda cool huh?

It's my second favorite company, next to Disney of course!

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :scared1:

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! :rotfl2: :lmao: I'm so sorry you had the IT bomb hit you on the ME! It's NOT fun when it hits the airplane. I can't imagine it on a bus!

Oh that's brilliant! :lmao:

Thank goodness for discrete set to the side benches!

I'm so in  with this picture of Henry! Awww-dor-able!

Such a big boy! I bet he loved seeing his reflection in the mirror as he jumped! Love the impromptu dancing in line! I have noticed lately the little things that are different when it's just me and Jack Jack so I get what you mean about those rare moments with a mom and toddler, solo! :cloud9:

So glad you guys had some magic going on this morning! Your room view is AWESOME!

I totally didn't realize that you and Joe had secured his earlier flight that morning. Here I was thinking it was more last minute, surprise Brook I'm on my way, than that! Glad you guys erred on the side of caution and had him join y'all ahead of Earl! :thumbsup2

Can't wait to read more!!!!

You are right! Chick-Fil-A influenced the Southern Style at McDonalds, I'm SURE if it. It's a total rip off.

Except it's waaaaaaaaaaay better at Chick-Fil-A! ::yes::

And thanks for the tidbits on the company, I LOVE to support a good company, and it sounds like they are one, which is so rare nowadays - especially chains.

As soon as I smelled IT I thought of you and laughed! I'm glad it wasn't on the plane or during the ME ride though!

When I was riding the bus with Henry I remember staring out the window and just soaking in the moment...I kissed the top of his head and breathed him in. Some moments, as a Mom of a toddler I want to rip my hair out, but others are just magic! :lovestruc

That would have been so SWEET of Joe to just show up! But nope, I knew all along. I was happy he took the matter into his own hands though and called the airline, etc!

Hi! Just found your report...sounds like you had a "practically perfect" travel-to-WDW day so far, I hope it continued!

And I totally agree with you that we desperately need some Chick-Fil-A's here in NY. No Chick-Fil-A, no Sonic, no Krispy Kreme, no Dairy Queen...this is a sad, sad city we live it! :rotfl:
