I have a friend that is graduating this friday from basic training. I'm not sure what to wear. I have looked online but have got mixed reviews. Should I wear jeans and a nice shirt or dressy pants and a blouse? Please any info would be helpful.

You will see all types of clothing at basic camp graduation, some dress up, some dress down. You'd be safe with slacks and nice top. :goodvibes

We went to my nephew's basic graduation back in November. I would say about 90% of people were wearing jeans. I don't think anyone was really "dressed up". I was comfortable in black pants and a sweater.

I would dress for the weather. Our DS graduated from basic in Missouri in August. It was suppose to be outside, but they had too many people pass out from the heat early in the week so they moved his inside! I remember I wore a red, white and blue top and a pair of white pants. I think most people went with a business casual look.

As a rule of thumb, if you go "business casual" to an event like this you can't go wrong.

Jeans in this setting would be inappropriate. Business causual, and weather appropriate would be the best choice.

You will see many, many people in jeans, and that's okay. They are there, supporting their soldier, so who cares what they are wearing.

I went to many graduations when we were stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo, so I'm speaking from experience. For the OP, you would be fine in anything that you choose, whether it's jeans and a nice top or nice pants and a blouse. Be comfortable - that's the most important thing!
