It looks like we're going to be exchanging on my flat tomorrow with a completion date of next week or the week after *fingers crossed & touching wood*. So expect a gizallion questions off me as I put all my fantasy planning into action :lmao:

We're planning to fly to CDG on boxing day & just want a basic & cheap hotel near the airport to stay that night & I'll book a taxi etc to take us to the hotel on site to book in, drop the luggage off nice & early the next morning.

We're going to have luggage, toddler & pram so the taxi/shuttle option is looking very favourable, but because of the extra night off site, I don't really want to be paying for 2 lots, hence wanting a hotel pretty close to the airport.

Your suggestions please :worship:

If there is anything else I need to know about this plan, I'm all ears :thumbsup2

You'd be better looking for a hotel near the park as what is on offer at the airport is rarely cheap, quiet basic and very often unpleasant.

If you do decide to stay up there some of the hotels offer shuttles to and from the airport.

Look rather at the hotels at/near Val d'Europe and get the bus/train one stop the next day. :)

Thanks for your swift response Carrie :goodvibes

Maybe I should change the title to basic hotel then . . . I was keen to stay near the airport for the reasons detailed above and DH is not the best on an early morning & having pre-booked transport take us & all our paraphernalia to where we wanted to go would be a lot more magical :rotfl2:

Maybe I should price up 2 lots of transport then. Boxing day from airport to hotel, then 27th hotel to disney hotel.

The hotels near Disney given by Elaine in this post will give you an idea for them

Look at Ibis near CDG but not the one near T3-RoissyPole as you don't want to be in there with a child.

You also have an Etap hotel on the same site which is more basic but also run by Accor

This site gives you a few good links and price indications

hth :)

That Ibis looks perfect.
Just what I was after.

I've submitted some requests for costs of taxis ;)

Thanks for your help :flower3:

No probs :thumbsup2

You can use their free shuttle to the hotel and then back to the airport and then a private or shared transfer.

You also see how much a normal taxi would be directly from the hotel in the morning to your Disney hotel.

I'd still be looking at say an Ibis at Val d'Europe though as you'd be in the parks at lot faster the following day and with that week been busy busy you don't want to be wasting time ;)

Sorry I've not responded for a while - thought the buyer was pulling out of the flat for a few weeks, so I couldn't allow myself to think of our disney trip incase it didn't happen  BUT the sale has gone through & now it's time to book :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

OH is moaning about having to change hotels - but I still think it's the best option. Though I have come round to your thinking of staying near the parks rather than the airport :thumbsup2

Is there a thread or a list of hotels near the park?

Would we be able to do EMH on the day we booked into the Disney hotel if we got there early enough?

I just usually go on the likes of travelrepublic/expedia etc and type in "Disneyland Paris", then go from there :). Ibis, Etap, Premier Classe and B&B chains all have their own websites too, and all have hotels in Val d Europe or Bussy St Georges (ie within a few minutes of DLP on the train).

yes, you can check in at your onsite hotel on your first morning before 8am, and get your park tickets/easypass, which is all you need for getting EMH under your belts that morning.

Ha - I'm doing just that now :surfweb: Great Minds . . . I just get confused on the locations, which is really annoying as I'm generally really good with stuff like that.

Excellent - not that we're naturally early risers . . . . best make sure we choose a hotel with no bar . . . or at least not a late bar

Thanks for your info & help

Apologies in advance for sounding really stupid, but I'm new to this.

The Kyriad is looking very favourable. There own website is quoting 90 Euro's but Expedia & a few other sites are quoting £114 for the same night. Is the difference local taxes & fees?

Is there any benefit with booking with either . . . i.e. the hotel's website or one of the booking sites?

:confused3

The local tax that you pay direct to the hotel is 1-2€ per night.

It might be that Kyriad are having a summer promotion offer and that's why their rates are cheaper or because you are reserving well in advance it's a special rate

Look and see also if it's a rate that is payable in advance and has no possibilites of cancellation or modification as they are always cheaper

After for booking it with one or the other it depends on you. I'd go with the cheapest if the t&c s matched what I was happy with :thumbsup2

Yup it's a special

Internet exclusive

Payment online, offer cannot be cancelled, refunded or modified (Check terms and conditions)

90.00 € inc. VAT

Just need OH to answer my text msg so I can book something . . . . *taps fingers impatiently*

I am correct in thinking the Kyriad is only a short hop from Disney Resort . . . . contemplating a slightly earlier flight for £7 each . . . . might manage to squeeze in a trip to Disney Village that night too . . . . . or too ambitious plans & best to rest for a full next day . . . .:rolleyes1

& THANK YOU

If it's the one at Val d'Europe you are indeed a very short RER ride away :thumbsup2

It's one stop, runs every 20 minutes and takes about 2 minutes station to station :goodvibes

The Kyriad isnt at Val d"Europe - its one of the 4 associated hotels just across from Santa Fe so has a shuttle bus from the parks shared with the other 3 hotels. Ive stayed there twice and really liked it

However I think there is another Kyriad somewhere nearby - I think Lilacgems stayed there once and said it was awful but Im not sure where this one is

This could also account for the price difference if its a different one

BOOKED

:cool1::cool1::cool1:

It's only one night, it was cheaper to fly the day before & get a full first day in the parks . . . I've not rechecked the flight prices in a few weeks as I had my heart set on this plan.

It's this Kyriad

Hotel Kyriad à Disneyland® Paris
+33 1 60 43 61 61
SNC HOTELIERE DE MAGNY - 10 AVENUE DE LA FOSSE DES PRESSOIRS - VAL DE FRANCE
77700 MAGNY LE HONGRE

Which on the map does look like it's just behind the Santa Fe, which when I priced it for the night at the weekend was over £200 & obviously included tickets which we didn't want.

I've also booked the flights :yay::yay::yay::yay::yay:

We're due to land at CDG at 17:35.

Disney Village is doable isn't it . . . . . how excited am I???!!?!?!

You'll like it there, it's our favourite off site hotel, not sure what time the shuttle buses start in the mornings from there though. The price difference could be no breakfast, which is what we have done in the past, you can still add once you arrive if you change your mind though.

Exiting times, have fun

the shuttles to and from the Kyriad start at 6am every day and run every 20 minutes. if your flight into CDG is on time, you should be checked in at your hotel and back in the Village for around 8pm :).

I don't know where I got the idea from the Kyriad from :rolleyes1 I put it down to your pixie dust, we got a good deal on the room. :flower3::flower3::flower3:

It doesn't include breakfast, which is fine with me . . . .it'll only delay us getting to the parks . . . . OH loves croissants so I'm sure we can pick one or two up easily enough & the first day is our wedding anniversary so we're planning to do Walts for lunch, I want plenty of tummy room. In London tuther weekend we managed til Brunch or Lunch with no hotel breakfast.

Excellent. Thank you.

Thinking about it, I will have to go to the parks to get my Annual Pass, otherwise OH & DD will be doing EMH in the morning, (subject to waking up time), & I won't be.
