What inning is it? (That's five and a half not.... 5, 1/2 innings)


This statement/question and answer caused near fights between myself and dh and youngest bro this past Sunday. Please help me out!!! It was ME against them, btw!!!

After 5 1/2 completed innings you're in the bottom of the 6th inning.

If there was a rain delay and the game got called and the home team was ahead. It could be considered an official game.

a pitcher 's earned run average is based on innings pitched. So if he only gets into the 6 inning with 2 outs... and is yanked he gets credit for pitching 5 and 2/3 innings.
