I will be at WDW the week of Feb 25th. I am a 1 month post op bariatric patient. My surgeon gave me special cards for restaurants if I chose to go, and obviously disney is a huge one! LOL Will the places we go eat take the cards so I can order from the kids menu or get a kids price for buffets? We are paying cash (going with Make A Wish who gives us money for food). I can only eat 1/2 c to a cup of food at a time. Why would I pay $15+ for a meal I can have only a few forkfulls of? I hope they will accomodate. Anyone have bariatric surgery and go also?

I have no idea about the cards, but I have never had an issue ordering from the kids menu in a table restaurant. I have also had luck ordering off menu, say a chicken breast with a side of steamed veggies... as long as it is in the kitchen. I rarely eat buffets as they are a waste of $$ for the amount of food I will generally eat.

As a post bariatric myself, I can tell you that your best bet is to share food. The buffets WILL charge you full price, as will the restaurants; they will not reduce your menu price. I am leaving in 25 days, and will pay full price for two character meals that I will eat less than four ounces of. Sorry, wish I had a better more preferable answer for you, but they're not set up to be quite that accomodating to our new lifestyle since it's not due to illness. We still end up paying MUCH less than everyone else for food, since we eat pretty much nothing!:rotfl2:
