Before any Disney World trip, we watch a bunch of Disney films (animated and non-animated) to really get us in the mood for the parks. Yes, we're all movie nerds in this house.

Since we planned our Universal trip about a month ago, we've been watching the Harry Potter films ... Over and over and over again. Don't get me wrong: I love the HP films, but I'm ready for something new. I have a few movies all lined up for our next few Universal Movie Nights:

Jaws I & II (I'm not watching the horrid part 3 in 3D)
Jurassic Park
The Mummy
Men in Black
Spiderman films
E.T.
The Simpsons movie
Harry Potter and the Prison of Azkaban (My favorite one)
The Cat in the Hat
Shrek

Am I leaving anything out? Thanks! :goodvibes

I wouldn't bother with The Mummy.

Terrible film but amazing ride :)

Twister - They show some of the movie clips in the pre-show.

BeetleJuice

You also might want to throw in some Popeye

Have fun popcorn::

Yeah, I don't really care for any of The Mummy movies. I know I might be unpopular for saying so, but Brendan Fraser sort of annoys me. I can deal with him in "School Ties" but in The Mummy ... I don't know. He's sort of a chubby Indiana Jones wannabe.

Thanks! Any excuse to watch Beetlejuice!

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is a favorite here and great because of the Flight of the Hippogriff ride, but I think I'd also add Goblet of Fire because for all of the Triwizard Tournament references with the Dragon Challenge ride and the Beaubattons and Durmstrang students.

The Blues Brothers and the Hulk movie (or tv show even). I believe they have some I Love Lucy memorabilia

A good list! I am surprising ds with our first trip in about 10days:cool1::cool1: We have just finished watching HP yrs. 1-4 and will start on ET and The Simpsons Movie this weekend. have a fun trip!

Have a great trip, too! We're leaving in 11 days! :goodvibes

:thumbsup2 Goblet of Fire has been in heavy rotation in our house ... It's my husband's favorite HP film!

Im glad my boyfriend and I aren't the only ones that do this.

Don't forget about some Dr Suess movies or books! Although that section has so much detail you don't even have to know anything!

We've got a list longer than my arm but we've got a while to work on it.

Dudley Do-right (cartoons or movie)

Wish I could say Back to the Future :sad2:

check this out. Beethoveen's Big Break. I bought it on amazon for 5.99 new. this movie was actually filmed at universal. For those that have been at universal you will recognize places through out the park where the movie was filmed.

***I just finished watching DVD watching deleted scene #74 a must. I would also say watching the commentary is a must also. They discuss the filming of the movie at universal and where scenes are filmed. Don't miss out.***

We did the same thing before our first trip. Makes the lead up to the trip even more fun! Watched the same ones you listed, plus Twister.
We were glad we had "done our homework" but the first 3 characters encountered: Lucille Ball, Marilyn Monroe, Betty Boop. Kids had no idea who any of them were. They did enjoy the Lucy museum though (9 and 11 yrs at the time). So with that in mind would DVR a couple of I Love Lucy shows and google Marilyn and Betty before leaving so they know who they are. Not sure if this character is still around, but our 4th Character was Doc and he posed with the Delorean. DH and I got a pic with him, kids had no idea who he was either and would not get in the pic.

I would read the Harry Potter books instead of just watching the movies. There are a lot of details from the books that aren't in the movies and the book is always better!
