Bare Escentuals on Carry On

I am leaving for Vegas on Sunday. I like to pack my make up in my carry on. I shouldn't have any problems with the Bare Escentuals should I - since it is all powder and not liquid??

YMMV, but I carried full-size jars of mineral makeup in my carry-on over Christmas and got my bags searched at three of airports (including the last one, Philadelphia). After the third time, I asked why I was being searched and was told that my mineral makeup was dense enough that, along with other things in my bag, to raise red flags. (The other thing that was of interest, as it has been in the past, is my electric toothbrush.) So they searched my bag, found nothing, and let me through.

I had mine in my carry-on this past summer (for our Disney cruise), and I had no trouble. This last trip, we all went sick...so no room for my makeup in my carry-on (I would've been even sicker had I lost all of my bare escentuals and my brushes!!!). I had a huge bag of 'scritps and OC drugs in a bag (much bigger than a gallon size ziploc, by the way), and had no comments about that.

For me, what stunk, is that we forgot to put the kids' sunscreen in our checked bags at the airport (it was still in the backpack from our day at Epcot), and we had to toss it!

Make sure you have your mascara and lipstick, glosses, and balms in your 1 quart zip-top bag. These are counted as liquids/gels and must follow the new carry-on guidelines.

I use Aromaleigh Mineral Make-up and never been searched. It is one perk of using mineral make-up instead of liquid!

I have also forgotten about lipsticks and balms in my purse before and never been checked.

I have also forgotten about hairsprays and various other liquids and never been stopped or searched.

It is so inconsistent... They really aren't doing anything to protect us with this ridiculousness.
