Banking points question??

Hi All!!
Is banking an instant transaction or do you have to wait a while for it to go through once requested?
I know when you are making a reservation you can borrow points instantly.
Asking since i have a Dec 2023 use year and will be booking an Dec 2023 trip at 11 month window and then finishing up booking an Aug 2023 trip at 7 month window.
Have plenty of 2022 points so just wanted to bank what i needed for 2023 trip when booking it and thrn will bank rest of 2022 points once i sm done booking Aug trip.

Newbie here. First time using banked points. If I use eight banked points toward a reservation, what happens to the points if I go in and modify the reservation to a week or two later. Is it the same policies as using your current UY points. October use year. November or December trip.

Banked (and borrowed) points will get used first followed by current UY points. Doesn’t matter if it’s a new reservation or modification.

Thank you. I'm booking now at my home resort, but there is the possibility of booking a different resort at the seven month window.
