Banking, borrowing questions

WE just closed yesterday and its all worked out very well. Just have some questions. Oct 2011 (this year) we get 45 points Oct 2012 we get 270 points. My question is if I bank the 45 to Oct 2012. What is the window I have to do this. Question #2 If I want to borrow from Oct 2012 to add to the 45. What is the window to do this? Thanks. We may want to take a trip March 2012 and are not sure weather to borrow to do this or just bank the 45 and take a big trip.

For an October use year, you must bank those 45 points by May 31. Once banked, they can be used for trips from October 2012 - September 2013, along with the 270 points you will get in October 2012.

None of those can be used for a trip in March 2012.

I'm a little confused by your post, but it's probably me. If you want to travel in March 2012, you can use the 45 points from Oct 2011 and you can borrow any others you need from the October 2012 points.

Yea I had 2 questions banking the 45 or borrowing to add top the 45. We wernt sure if we should bank them and then do a big trip or go in March 2012 and borrow and take a nice week somewhere. Was trying to get the window dates for doing both

There is no blackout date for borrowing. However, borrowing is only possible in connection with a booking. So if you don't have enough points in your current UY, MS will ask you if you would like to borrow point from the next UY in order to finalize your booking. At that moment, the borrowed points become current UY points permanently and in case you cancel won't go back to their original UY and you also won't be able to bank them.

if you want to book a trip between October 2012 - September 2013, you can use the 45 banked pts from 2011, the 270 current pts from 2012 and up to 270 borrowed pts from 2013. you can book it with any combination of those pts at 11 months out at your home resort.

if you want to book a trip between October 2011 - September 2012, you can use the 45 current pts from 2011 plus up to 270 borrowed pts from 2012.

i am assuming the 45 pts that come online for oct 2011 are current pts and not pts that were banked to 2011 from 2010 (happens sometimes.)
