Banking/Borrowing Points and Cancelling a Ressie

I am arranging a family trip to WDW Oct 5 - 12, 2008. I have 160 points and my use year is Dec 2007. I needed to make 3 studio room ressie's (to keep everyone's sanity) as follows:

A - 74 points - for me, DH and DD
B - 86 points - for my bro and family
C - 82 points - for my sis and family

I have already reserved part A, leaving me a balance of 86 points. I can make ressie B tomorrow and that will then leave me with 0 points. Now my sis who will use ressie C is still not sure if her family can join us, but I want to make the ressie as soon as I can so I can ensure she has a spot.

If I call tomorrow to do ressie C as well, I think (and this is where I need DIS experts' help) I will be required to borrow 82 points from the the Dec-08 use year so they can confirm the ressie. I am okay with that, but my problem is if she ends up cancelling, I do not want to be stuck with 82 points that I cannot use up in my current use year, and I know I cannot return them to the year that I borrowed them from.

That said, will it be possible for me to cancel ressie B (where I used current use year's points) - as long as I do it before my banking deadline of July 31, 2008 - bank the 86 points and then just keep ressie C for my bro to use instead? This way I am able to use up the borrowed 82 points before the year is over while at the same time being able to bank the 86 that was from ressie B as those points were from my current use year anyway.

Is this the best way for me to approach this? Any suggestions are appreciated... So confused with all of this... This is what happens when we share the Disney love with family ... Oh well, I'm sure this can all be worked out...

As long as the dates are the same it will work. You will just have to change the names on the reservation.

Are you all staying at separate resorts? Two look like AKV 74 and OKW 82. Which resort is 86?

I dont think that there will be a problem with you doing that at all.
I would just make sure with MS but as I have read it and the way I am taking it I think you would be fine doing that.

Yes, you could cancel reservation B and then change the name on reservation C. Are the rooms different dates or different resorts, why are the number of points different?

they are all the same dates, i may need to do different resorts though, but that won't matter much to my bro and sis, they're getting this for free! i just want to be able to book them both tomorrow and cancel the other without fear of the points expiring if i can't "unborrow", bank or use the points that i will borrow...

the number of points for ressie B and C were taken in random - it's just easier to explain when they are all different numbers...

she called me this morning (i was so anxious!) and told me that the reason she did not tell me about the developer points is because the promo was over on the day that i called (march 4th). she did not acknowledge that she received the member's name i left on her voice mail (in my vm, i told her you were the one that convinced me to give up my harborside atlantis trip and buy dvc instead ) but after she said the promo was over she said this:

"BUT what I can do for you is this - I spoke to my manager and she was okay that I give you the $500 Disney Gift card"

Yahooo!!!!!! Better than nothing! She said I can use it anywhere Disney, even on Annual Passes. She said it should arrive in the next couple of months - why it takes that long, I don't know, but at least she said we got it.

This would not have been possible had it not been for all the disboard members and of course, for you for giving me that idea (I was so excited I forgot to give you my friend's name!). Thank you, thank you, thank you! One day, this good deed will come back to you, if not through me, through another person... Thanks again!
