:earseek: I have a June use year, and banked all my 2003 points for use in 2004. I recently made my first reservation home at BWV for June 2004.:earseek:

 Will my banked points be the first points deducted automatically?

I failed to mention this when talking to a services rep.

They should deduct the banked points first, but I would call and ask if that is what they did. One time I failed to tell them which points to use and they used the wrong ones. I called and asked them and they fixed the problem. I have learned to always tell them which points to use since I have 2 home resorts and sometimes banked points.

As my daughter would say, "maybe yes, maybe no". If all points are sitting there at the time you make the ressies, they will almost always used banked and borrowed first. If you bank or borrow later, they will not substituated automatically. I'd always make sure up front and in this case, I'd call or email them.

if your saying : you just banked your 2003 june points for use in june 2004, so that the 2003 points will be deposit back into your account on june 2004 along with your 2004 points. and now you just made ressies, ms would have to borrow your 2004 points to make the ressies , because once you bank points you can not use them until the points are deposit back into your account.
and your 2003 points will have to be used by may 2005. if you cancel your ressies this year 2003 those 2004 points remain in the 2003 year, meaning you would have to use them before the end of the year.:smooth:

No. You have it right 1SickPupe. The points would not have to be borrowed. Since the reservation is for next June, the first points used should be your 2003 banked points. Points are taken out for when the reservation is, not when the reservation is made.

 Thanks for all the input. I did call, and they said the banked points are the first to be deducted "automatically".
:jumping1: I will make it a point to ask in the future just to make sure. :jumping1:

I always verify my points balances by use year at the end of each transaction. Most member services cm's give you this automatically, but if they don't, ask.

I always check my balance also. And if I have banked points I am using, I always say "and you are using my banked points for this right?"

I had one mixup before and now I always double check everything.
