Banked Point Question

I currently have the remainder on my 2009 points banks. I now need to book a room for March of 2010. Can I book that room using those banked 2009 points or are those point unavailable until April 2010, as April is my use year?

Your banked 2009 points are not available until 4/1/2010 but you can borrow your 2010 points for 3/2010. It is always a balance between banking to early and making sure to not forget to bank. I wish DVC would have an “autobank option” that members could select to automatically bank points just before the 4 month mark if they thought that they were not going to need them in the last 4 months of the use year.

If your April 2009 points are banked, then they are only good for stays 4/1/10 to 3/31/11. For a March 2009 stay, you would have to borrow 2010. I did that last year, I also have an April use year. I already banked my points when I decided to take a December trip to DL. I had to borrow.

My own fault but I am annoyed. I didn't plan on the trip, but who can say no to WDW! Thanks everyone!
